Orky Superheavy scrapmobile

It has been a long week, and was really needing some relax time. That usually means Orks, but I also hadn't got to play with my foam cutters in forever. So rather than start another boring hill or scenic bit, I decided to see just how far I could get with using some scraps sitting around the shop. Here's a few pics of the first bit of work. I think it spells doon for a few IG players at our next apoc game.

I think total cost I'm still under a buck.)

I'm going to keep working on this one, but start another in a different sort of design, as I'm already learning things about how to carve the tracks and want to do it better, with closer spacing.

Next steps: find some suitable bits for road wheels, finishing nails in the rivet holes, add spikes to the roller and make the gun much bigger. I'm trying to resist the urge to just start dumping orky bits onto it, or resort to plasticard. I'm wondering how far I can get with scrap material. After all, if it's cheap, I can do a dozen for the next big apoc game.)

Iron_Chaos_Brute wrote:Very cool! The tanks a bit oversized.)

I used a saw to cut through the heavy cardboard, and pulled both caps off. After wondering how I'd attatch it, I went the easy route. A 2" drywall screw through each endcap, and then screwed them into the tracks, then push them both back onto the tube. I like the look of having a deatheroller out front like a WWII mineflail, but it would seriously do more damage rolling over something with the weight of the vehicle above it.)

I had a bunch of 2" foam scraps lying around. Each tread is a soldid chunk of foam, and the body is 3 layers high. I'll take a pic tomorrow of it next to a baneblade.)
