				<title>Forge World application sculpts?</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Hypothetically, if you guys were to want to apply to <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> (on a freelance basis), what sorts of things would you make for your application?<br /> <br /> How big?  How many?<br /> <br /> Bearing in mind they will be doing warhammer soon, would you think it would be wise to do some of that and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span>?  Or only what interested you?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Didn't know <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> did freelance.  But, following the hypothetical, I'd sculpt basic troops to show I have the skill to produce figures in line with what <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> makes.  I'd probably also produce a few large creatures or seige weapons to demonstrate that I can model as well as sculpt.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ The Power Cosmic has a good point. A lot of creative industries hate unsolicited work... It leaves them open to a lawsuit if you do (for example) Chaos Dwarves, send them to them, and then they release something that is similar. It could provoke a lawsuit in which case they have to prove they did theirs before yours, which gets ugly.<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(114);'>OTOH</span>, having a portfolio does make sense. maybe focus on non-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span> sculpts of some sort? If they're good, I'm sure a small minis company that does more 'generics' would consider them.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ It's the reason why we don't see the sculptor's "application" models ever really made by <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(39);'>FW</span> from what my understanding of it is. The sculptor technically retains the right to it, rather than the company owning the rights to the model.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Indeed.  I know for a fact that Catalyst Game Labs will not EVER put to print or make official anything that is ever posted on their forums from the fan base, simply because of the legal trouble it can cause.  Probably the same with most companies.]]></description>

So when Grimstonefire made the comment about one not supplying sculpts no one would want as one's application portfolio, I made a humorous connection between the two.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Oh no, I got the joke. To put it lightly: the minotaurs were a result of a disconnect between the design staff and sculptors. Games Workshop tried to move Beastmen away from being "Beastmen and other Mythological Beast Friends"--to "BeastMEN". <br /> The Minotaurs are a...rather poor result of that idea. They were intended to be men altered through some random acts of mutation through the Winds of Chaos, rather than being their own separate species like Trolls, Orcs, and Giants.<br /> <br /> But yeah, I got the joke.
