				<title>MY FIRST SPACE MARINE LIST 1500 Help Please</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ You've got a lot of strong individual units, that have very little overall synergy.<br /> <br /> Chapter Masters usually aren't considered worth it, because you pay an extra 25 points for an essentially useless weapon, and the ability to use Honor Guard, which are also considered fairly useless.  Plus, there are a lot of things that can beat this unit in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>.<br /> <br /> Two Dreads in drop pods, which aren't terrible, but since you'll only be able to bring in one at a time, due to having two pods total, they'll take a lot of fire and die often and early.<br /> <br /> Your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>Tac</span> Squads aren't kitted out badly, but the lack transport, and you don;t have enough infantry to survive footslogging them, especially if you break them into Combat Squads.<br /> <br /> The scout bikers aren't going to be useful in this list. Most sniper units are deployed in the building they'll be in for the whole game, and the cluster mines won;t be able to harm them unless they try to move out of the building, which is unlikely. Scout bikers are all but useless except in Drop Pod Lists, which this is not.<br /> <br /> Nothing wrong with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(420);'>TFCs</span> or Predators.<br /> <br /> You need to go back to square one and think about the army as a whole. Think about the theme for the army. (Mechanized, Drop Pod, Fottslogging, Bikes, Jumps Packs, Ranged, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>,) and design mostly around that principle. Not everything in the army has to stick to it, but as it stands, your lest is all over the place.<br /> ]]></description>

Heres a few pointers for ya. <br /> <br /> You need rhinos or razorbacks for the tact squads. if you dont have them you will notice that you cant get anywhere you need to with combat squading. It happened to me and I regretted not bringing them. <br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(269);'>Id</span> recomend grabbing a land raider and 5 assualt termies inplace of your command elements. they will last longer in combat and with a mix of weapons can do very well against almost all targets. Plus a land raider will help in a few key elements depending on what load out you choose for it.  <br /> <br /> You can drop the dread in pod for a captain with termy armor. he gets a free power sword through it and thats all he really needs. <br /> <br /> Other then that it looks pretty well thought out for 1500 points. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(380);'>gl</span><br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Before I comment on the build of your list I have one thing to say, on scout bikers can has arstrates grenade launchers, not their sergeants, so you'd have to take an extra biker to get that third grenade launcher and on your tactics, thunder fire cannons have to fire all the same amuntion last time I checked.<br /> <br /> Firstly I would mech up those tactical squads. Thats almost goes without saying. <br /> <br /> Secondly, I personally think that if you realy want those honour guard and master to do well in combat you'll need a land raider crusader. Droping the normal dreadnought, the preditor and the razorback for the honour guard will get you one. Crusaders are brilliant assult vehicles as they can move 6" and fire every weapon on that bunker. And the assult ramp is great.<br /> <br /> I you really wanted to change anything else I'd replace those bikers for the rhino transports for the tactical squads as mentioned above, power fists instead of power weapons on the tactical sergeants and a relic blade on you chapter champion.<br /> <br /> Hope I've helped.]]></description>

Space marines are not a very good force devoted to one thing. Ive played alot of one type space marine lists with my overal ones and I win a great deal more then them. <br /> <br /> If you look at the stats of a space marine, In itself they are great but when you start matching up our units verses other armies units in the same field ( An example is assault marines verses say banshees) we are at a disadvantage. You cant win in combat verses them unless your lucky so the best bet is just to shoot them down. You woul;d have problems doing so in a completly assualt oriented force. <br /> <br /> A good space marine force has to be flexible. It has to be able to deal with any threat that can come across the table in more then one way.  Its how I feel that they were designed. And through my games I find that im more right then wrong. To me that means having a core that focuses on the theme for the army, but maybe having one or two units that provide that flexibility.]]></description>

For 10 pts more than what you are currently spending on your tacticals you could take the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span>+Flamer setup with rhino?Drop pod. <br /> <br /> Chapter Master/Captain is a poor choice unless you put the Captain on a bike to get Bikes as troops. If the wording said that the cannon was heavy for and had special for strength and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span> and then a rule to allow you to choose different ammo for each shot then your plan would work.<br /> <br /> As for getting a pod for the cannon, that is so you can drop an empty pod which will allow your dreads to drop in faster.
