Baal Predator, magnetized weapons

Finished my Baal Predator and made the weapons swappable.

The main weapons don't really need magnetizing as the fit is quite snug ... a little too snug in fact. You'll have to file/sand them down a bit and be careful when priming/sealing because the little extra layer makes a difference

I added small magnets at the back of the turret and a matching one inside the slot on the fuel tanks/ammo bin. The side flamers were magnetized with a small magnet at the end of each pin and then one inside the hole of the sponson top and bottom

Flame Cannon

Swapped out for Assault Cannon. Side flamers pop out too.

Close up of front plate and details of weathering

Older WIP showing the back and interior detail

Color notes:

The tank was primed brown (Rustoleum Camo Brown). I used Mechrite Red as the first layer followed by Red Gore. Highlights were done with a mix of Blood Red and Orange.

The interior of the tank was done with Gnarloc Green, washed with Badab Black or Paynes Grey. I thought that matched more closely the interior a real tanks.

The base mud is a mix of white glue, Liquitex Burnt Umber, water, sand, snow flock, static grass, and the contents of a tea bag. This is applied fairly generously to the tracks and where ever the mud would get thrown.

This is drybrushed with Snakebite Leather and P3 Rucksack Tan.

Lastly, there is some weather powder applied over the top.

Hope this was useful.

I'll probably have to take another picture of the sponsons. However, the D201 1/8" x 1/32" disc magnets from K&J Magnetic will fit nicely into the sponson top and bottom, with just a little bit of enlargement with a drill bit.

For the posts, I used the D101-N50 1/16" x 1/32" disc magnets from the same company.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
anyone else, before it rolls off the page?
