				<title>Space Wolves HQ Choices. Help!!!</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Looking at the space wolves codex. I have no idea what <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQs</span> are actually good. they are all super expensive, and none of them have eternal warrior besides Logan, who's the most expensive.<br /> <br /> For the cheapness. I think Rune Priests are the best <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>, what do you think is the Best Space Wolf <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>? I would love input from everyone! I'm trying to rationalize a good <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> choice. <br /> <br /> Also Wolf Lords equipped cheap seem really good as <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> choices. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I know a few wolf players that field a rune priest as their only <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> and take <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(416);'>JOTWW</span> for a support role, seems to work out well.  But I guess it depends on what army you're taking, the one that used the priest had his army go mechanized with no room for things like terminators.  The ones that uses the expensive terminator wolf <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> had mainly a dropod army that was either half terminator or full terminator.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I don't play Space Wolves, but from what i have seen Bjorn is a beast.<br /> <br /> 5+ invuln save, a free plasma cannon that will hit most of the time, an extra objective(albeit if you don't hold it at game end its lose no matter what) that can tip the balance if he dies.<br /> <br /> <br /> Being a vehicle he isn't vulnerable to the bolter spam that will kill many multi wound models by forcing saves.<br /> <br /> BS6 is rarity these days and makes any blast weapon he has so accurate its not even funny.<br /> <br /> <br /> besides you can say "I have a dreadnought as my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>, hurrrr...hurrrr"]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Ulrik did not work for me. I use the figure all the time as a normal WP. Ragnar,I can't wait to use him. But a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(261);'>LRC</span>, 15 assault troops: Wolf guard,10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(390);'>GH</span>. But that would be a chunk out of a 1500 force.<br /> "i have seen Bjorn is a beast." You have seen them in a real game? <br /> I think the Int 3 stinks. I fight a lot of eldar INT 5. In 2nd ed he was a combat master.<br /> I removed Bjorn's weapons and down graded him to a Dakka Dread 4X auto cannons.<br /> <br /> OK. Power fist/claw ect all go INT 1. <br /> What items can hurt him, before his turn to fight back?  When do Melta bombs go? Int of the user? Otherwise a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>STR</span> 7 would glance on a 6.<br /> The key for whimps to take out giants is having them roll lots of save throws.<br /> How surviviable on the battlefield is he. He is large and can be targeted with shooting weapons. If I was playing aginst him,I would shoot him up just for fun. He is a lot of points that can't hide in a retnue.<br />  ]]></description>

				<title>Space Wolves HQ Choices. Help!!!</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I've used wolf lords, wolf guard battle leaders a bit. wolf priest once. He failed me largely. The extra initiative and wound and attack of the wolf lord are really huge. I have been fighting eldar a lot though. So that's part of it. Wolf guard battle leaders are ok. Secondary <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>hqs</span> like they are implied in the codex by being last. I put my wolf lord with skyclaws and my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(392);'>wgbl</span> with swiftclaws. I'm going to be trying the wolf lord with swiftclaws for a while. The skyclaws aren't as effective on their own to make them anything but a way to get the wolf lord to the fight. I don't use unique <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>hqs</span> very often. Never with space wolves so far so I can't comment on them.]]></description>

				<title>Space Wolves HQ Choices. Help!!!</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ My rundown of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> choices.<br /> <br /> Logan Grimnar: Excellent choice, put him with your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> sqauds for prefered enemy/fearless, put him with your long fangs for tank hunting/relentless/fearless, Wolf Guard as troops, and +1 attack to nearby space wolves when you need it most. Eternal warrior and hes a beast in combat. Truly a Badass <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>.<br /> <br /> Njal: Another exellent choice. Very easy to kill, so keep him protected, but he can wreak some serious havoc. Vengeful Tornado and Chain Lightning rock, one game I had chain lightning destroy 4 rhinos and kill a fistful of chaos marines in one turn, before anything else in my army shot.<br /> <br /> Ragnar: Great Choice. Eats troopers in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, lots of attacks at S6 that ignore armor, gets more attacks in following rounds. he doesnt have eternal warrior so make sure you keep him away from powerfists/klaws. His biggest benefit is the +D3 attacks and Furious charge to his unit, and being able to grant furious charge to other units within 12" makes Space Wolves an assault force.<br /> <br /> Ulrik: Not the best, not the worst either. Hes good when paired with a super killy unit that is hunting things that are T5 or higher, other than that he is just ok. his statline is not impressive, but granting to-hit and to-wound rerolls is very nice.<br /> <br /> Canis: Not a good choice, Fenrisian wolves as troops is actually a drawback, because it means if you want to field fenrisian wolves you are taking up valuable Grey Hunter slots for them. on top of this he doesnt have an invul save, which is a big no-no for close combat <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQs</span>.<br /> <br /> Bjorn: If you can use him well he is full of win. I won 2 tournaments because of this guy. From getting an extra objective by letting him die, granting fearless to my army to sit on key objectives elsewhere, stomping things to the ground in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, and giving cover to rhinos with clever positioning. I3 isnt a big deal when you swing with 5 S10 attacks and have AV13 with a 5+ invul and force rerolls on the damage table.<br /> <br /> Wolf Lord: Good choice, good statline, VERY customizable. on a thunderwolf, in termy armor, in power armor, in a drop pod, in a land raider, eternal warrior or saga of the warrior born, majesty or beastslayer. however you want to field him, just give him a few goodies and a squad to run with and he shouldnt let you down<br /> <br /> Rune Priest: Great choice for 100 points you can get a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>D6</span> shot unlimited range autocannon and a good way to snipe powerklaws/heavy weps and monstrous creatures. Or give him stormcaller and try to argue that he grants cover saves to vehicles, 5+ saves arn't great but its better than nothing. Murderous hurricane also wrecks ork boy mobs.<br /> <br /> Wolf Priest: Not a bad choice, not a great choice either though. The only good way to really field these is with 15 blood claws in a land raider crusader. I ran this at adepticon with Ragnar in a paired Land raider redeemer with 10 grey hunters to good effect. Blood Claws would get 60 attacks at S5 I5 that reroll hits. Wiped out a full squad of 10 assault termies in round 1. If you are willing to build your army around it, it works, otherwise leave them at home.<br /> <br /> Wolf Guard Battle Leader: Good choice, but I prefer the Wolf Lord. Basically you lose out on an attack, a wound, a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(149);'>WS</span>, and a leadership to save 30 points. I'd rather spend those 30 points to make sure my killy <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(67);'>ICs</span> are as killy as possible.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Arjac rockfist is a Badass just like logan.<br /> <br /> on the turn you are going to charge you have a minirailgun to try and pop a transport, then when you assault the guys inside you get 5 S10 attacks that reroll hits against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(93);'>MCs</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(67);'>ICs</span>.<br /> <br /> enemy charges you? no problem, pass counter charge check and get 5 S10 attacks.<br /> <br /> eternal warrior with 2 wounds and a 3++ save means he isn't afraid of anything. allocate those lascannon shots to him without fear.<br /> <br /> His only downside is his price, but compare him to a wolf guard battle leader and see that he IS a bargain. (if a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(392);'>WGBL</span> could take saga of the bear, armed with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(332);'>TDA</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(224);'>TH</span>/<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(221);'>SS</span> he would be 185 points, Arjac is 188 and gives you an extra attack on the first round of combat, rerolls vs 2 different types of targets, and a minirailgun.<br /> <br /> But he is not an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>, so its not part of this discussion.]]></description>
