Never had good luck with Simple Green, 3 days you say...hmm, that could be it.
Pine Sol takes about 24 to 36 hours, then stick 'em under warm running water and use an electric toothbrush, takes about 3 to 5 minutes per marine.
And don't worry about the Pine Smell it gose away in a day or two...as long as you leave them on a self

Removing paint off plastic mini's

yep, Simple Green has done wonders for me. A totally screwed up Priming job, 7 layers of paint. popped them in concentrated Simple Green and 3 days later they came out and the paint peeled off like dead skin, and the primer i just needed to brush off with a toothbrush and they were good to go. Washed them good and let them dry. I re-primed them and they are working like they were out of the box again.

I say this every time.

You get it at some Walmarts and Autozone for sure. This stuff will murder paint jobs and plastic AND metal with ease. And WAY better then simple green. Its under $10 and lasts just about for forever. All you have to do is wear rubber gloves when handling the liquid as it likes flesh. But doesnt soften or damage plastic/metal. Trust me this stuff is the best for stripping

Removing paint off plastic mini's

Well I've got a fair few to try now. I'm back in this after a long break. I just got the cases of minis that were in my parents actic for the last 20 years. I wonder if the plastic mix has changed at all? I think I'll be careful with the first few.

My painting was pretty bad when I started so I've got 94 mostly plastic space marines, and a bunch of other stuff that will need a do-over. My kids are itching to get these painted up in new colors.

archangel777 wrote:has anyone experience damage to plastic minis with the super clean or simple green

Apparently I should of typed my post out in bold and in a much larger font size

No super clean doesnt hurt plastic/metal minis at all. Ive never tried it on resin, so for that I cant tell you. The only thing is, is when you use super clean, wear rubber gloves, otherwise your skin will get a nice chemical burn. But seriously SuperClean is by far the best stuff for stripping minis, bar non.

Removing paint off plastic mini's

If you guys do use harsh chemicals like Degreaser, don't flush it down the drains!! Its bad, bad stuff.

Simple green is better for the environment IF you can get hold of it.

Save the planet, hug a tree.

TIPS: If you have your mini's in a bucket with whatever chemical, give the stuff a quick mix once or twice a day. This can speed up the process of stripping.

Warmer temperature will speed up the process of stripping. If you have a warm spot in the house\garage then consider soaking them there. 30'C will strip WAY quicker then 10'C.
