For the aquilla ( the chest eagles) start with a darker red, like mechrite red or similar, then Baal red wash and the blood red. Adding white to red is fine but just be aware that it can give it a pinkish tint rather than a bright red.

For the helmets start with a darker blue perhaps ultramarine or mordian then paint on your Ice blue, wash with Asurman and then re-highlight with the Ice blue.

Each layer of paint should leave a little showing at the edges, this way the colour will gradually change. As a result your mini will have more depth in its colours.

A few last points, when you wash a mini be careful not to apply to much of the wash. The result otherwise is a dirty watermarked staining which doesn't generally look altogether very realistic.

Finally, most importantly, remember this is advice not law. I didn't pay for the models and neither did anyone else on here so remember its what you feel works best for you that counts. So good luck sorry to ramble a bit there and look forward to some updates on those devs.
