Crimson Fists

I have codex marines that are crimson fist chapter. I have them already painted in a similar paint scheme. However when I painted them first, I only had six paint colors to work with. I got them ready for adepticon, but now I want them to really look good. Hopefully with enough Prior Proper Planing, I can get all the materials needed and go from there. I am also getting other painting items needed since I only have 2 brushes.

What I am looking for is a list of colors I would possible need for the Crimson fist army.

Im thinking for the body:

Mordian blue
with a light blue for a highlight (possilbe regal/ or ultramarine blue)

what I have been doing for the first, which seem to work great is, use blood red, dry bush it on there. I will give a real dark red on there. Then put a black wash on it, and highlight areas with blood red.

The biggest problem, is trying to get that dark blue. that is where I want to start. ill also post some pics of my current CF marines that I will be repainting.

I use a mix of Midnight and Regal blue which is pretty close to Mordian.

For the Hands I use scab red and then highlight with blood red-golden yellow+Blood red+brighter mix.

Here's my result anyways: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/294065.page

Very nice, I like the rhino. I did not think of scarab red, I do like the highlights on the fist. I guess Ill have to get a few pots of each and put them next to each other.

Re:Crimson Fists

Brother Marine!

I just restarted my CFists last week and had been playing around with color schemes myself. I found that using the Foundation Necron Abyss followed by a wash of Badab Black, then highlighted with Necron Abyss, Abyss+Regal, and a final highlight of Ultramarines Blue worked very nice to produce that incredibly dark blue.

For the fists and shoulder edges, I went with Blood Red followed by Badab Black, and then Blood Red again. I'm not certain if I'm going to highlight again, but I'd probably add a drop of Bleached Bone to get it lighter - the slight yellow in it keeps the red from getting pink. Chest eagle and other metal bits are in Boltgun, Badab again, Boltgun, then Chainmail.

I found this blog that made some pretty decent Crimson Fists (check out the Sternguard, nice!) and has a step-by-step tutorial, albeit not a very comprehensive one. I'd rank it about as detailed as a White Dwarf painting tute.

Good Luck!
