Need top down fig/vehicle pictures for maptool project

I'm working on 40k in Maptool so we can play online or just have a computer board to test stuff on, and I've got quite a bit done, but I need top down pictures of vehicles, preferably painted. If you send me a top down picture of your mostly painted vehicle, I'll clean it up and send you back a finished .rptok for use in maptool, and will post it to my rptools.net gallery for everyone to use

So far I have a scatter function completed, that will roll scatter and direction and move the selected token to its new position. This is the only automated feature I plan to implement. The idea is to keep it simple and not try to do very much in automatic macros, because for 40k thats a very bad idea (17+ rulebooks!!)

This will let people play in real time online as well as in "play by email" fashion asynchronously, or mix and match easily

Heres a screenshot of the current campaign file in progress using token images taken from the dawn of war game and collected by this guy http://www.thetangledweb.net/forums/local_links.php?catid=4&sort=d

Send me your vehicle pictures please!
methodermis at gmail dot com

Why not just use vassal? Unless there's a particular reason for making your own?

Re:Need top down fig/vehicle pictures for maptool project

I heard of this vassal + 40k module thing, but heard it was attacked by GW and taken down. I got the latest download link from the librarium entry and gave it ta try though.

I like how it is very visual, and highly optomized for 40k, but I don't like how it forces you to squint at the crazy low res sprites to figure out wargear. My favorite feature of maptool for 40k is when you mouseover a unit it shows whatever you want in the properties window, and you can have up to 3 different labels as the unit's nametag. I'm not completely familiar with my opponents' codices, so it would be impossible to play using vassal in an asynchronous fashion..

I will keep looking into vassal, maybe I'm missing something

Automatically Appended Next Post:
After looking into Vassal, we (my friend and I) are going ahead with MapTool instead

For the benefit of those finding this thread via search, some links for vassal 40k
http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/VASSAL_40k_Module
http://www.scribd.com/doc/4400163/V40k-User-Guide

I like MapTool better because it can be used to save rule info, whereas the 40k vassal module contains zero rule info, so you have to know everything by name. MapTool is simpler, easier to just scroll around with mousewheel zoom, and easier to make custom tokens even though it does lack the modular unit system of Vassal. Vassal's look and feel also grates against my taste, it seems very DOS with its odd interface and low res sprites.

So I'm still in the market for some top down vehicle pics! Painted is optional, in focus is a must!

Need top down fig/vehicle pictures for maptool project

Vassal 40k is still active. We are working on an update and could need any help.

I dont think it is very smart to try to do the same with just a few differences. Most work would have to be done again and the playerbase would only be splitted.

We already have coverd most of the Units and as you said yourself the Vassal has its benefits, altough its not eye-candy. But our sprites are no low-res anymore (thanks to Dezartfox)
