Anyway, if you could take over the world, how would you do it? Why? What would you do after you took over?
Would you use political, military, economic, or religous powers?

Let's say you come across a box. Inside this box, is the ability to remake the world, by you taking over.
The inside of the box i different for every person.

Step Two: Good PR, lots of donations in the public, bribes to make Creosote green with envy, and arrange for a high up position of power. During this time, the company is buying assets and breaking smaller companies down and absorbing them. Many offshoots, aiming to adjust the market to what we need, either by putting the goods there, or by making sure that they aren't when my competitors get there.

Step Three: Pretty basic coup. Either the military gets bribed off, I get elected/nominated to power, or a mix of the two with a sympathetic "People's Man" to take out a corrupt (Which I would have been helping along and exposing as I exploit it) government.

One country down, and the rest would be followed by similar things. Using economics to weaken certain countries, while using politics to make stronger ones expend assets and look weak. When the strong make a mistake, get other people to attack. Goal number one would be taking out nuclear arsenals from the more childish countries, followed by assassinations, followed by surgical strikes at key structures via plane or missile, followed by a ground invasion. If all goes well, I get the crown. Religion would also work well in this phase, to help stir up hostilities.

What I would do afterward: Anyone nearby I can't trust is removed to distant posts or to handle rebellions where they, regrettably, die from what appears to be sniper fire. Pity. Happens all the time. What land I own would be forced to obey environmental laws with draconian punishments to keep people in line. Plenty of public hangings of people that the local area absolutely hate. Africa would be looked into to create block agri-farms (10 story greenhouses topped by a livestock enclosure) and housing, diverting rivers if need be. Highly populated areas would be broken up and set off to other countries. All religions would be crammed together, so everyone must either smile and put up with each other, or murder someone. Basic rule of thumb: You get a warning, then the next person is made an example. If this means I must purge an entire religion because it can't play nice with neighbors, strangely enough, I already have every temple/church's location from the Great Relocation.

Why? I could say to be Ruler of the World. I could say because I don't trust humanity as a whole not to feth up a group painting project. I could even say that I would rather see lands subjugated than see them lead by certain leaders (I'm looking at you, North Korea). But really, deep down inside, the ability to sleep in on a Monday and have the person who wakes me up executed is what it's for. That, and Canadia's sweet, sweet Syrup mines.

Edit: Or, get everyone in Aussieland drunk, lead a coup, then start taking criminals from other countries for a fee. Train them into an effective military where people who break the law again while conscripted (Murder and such, not assault) are ground up and served to people in the brig for lesser crimes. Then we play Risk and island hop until we make China mildly curious, then zoom over and start taking African ports. Dominate the world from there.

Now, do you simply stay in that timeline and scoot off to another planet, or do you sit back with a couple of lady friends at high points of your battles saying "Yeah baby, that's me. I would then take out the 10 richest people in the world and go about impersonating them. I would then start a charity under a different name and slowly start to siphon off each of vast sums of money into it, then when each of them has reached a proper age to die, I would kill them off in some way. Cancer, assassin, something like that to tell the media. Then I would donate the rest to the charity while leaving a generous amount for the family to live off of, so as to not seem at all weird.

Then, after my plan has been completed, I will resume being the head of this "charity" with ridiculous amounts of money at my disposal.

I will then move to purchase my own country, probably somewhere in Africa or South America. Something a little 3rd world and unstable, but with the right resources to make myself a juggernaut of a country when I build it up. I will take care of the local rebels and such with a secret and completely unanounced attack from a privately funded military group I have been recruiting and training.

Once the rebellion is done and the country is becoming stable, I will begin transforming the infrastructure into something suitable for an empire.
