If you are going to wash it, I wouldn't go with anything darker than Gryphonne Sepia. Washes dont have to kill the brightness of the yellow- unless you over do it. It adds depth and makes the gear look used/worn.

I really doubt a whole unit of orks is going to have brand new yellow painted gear.
