				<title>Necrons running</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ The other day I was thinking what would it be like to fight a specific <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> army on the battlefield. With dark Eldar I pictured raiders zooming by defence lines and warriors jumping off to engage the enemy. With <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> I pictured battlescarred men and some 'shinies' in trenches, bringing their lasguns up and awaiting orders to fire. Then came Necrons. They would have a slow advance,....which means they wouldn' be getting anywher fast. But then again they are pretty tal and long legs so their "power walk" could be similar to a human sprinting. 				<description><![CDATA[ They fitted that better back in 3rd ed, when the run rules were different and necrons lacked both fleet and transport vehicles. They were sort of stuck purposefully and relentlessly striding towards the enemy. And getting back up to keep advancing when you shot them.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ no, they hate sense.<br /> <br /> and yeah, I get the feeling that, more than any other army, they are a product of the rules edition they were created in. The idea of slowly, yet implacably moving forward is ludicrous in the current game.<br /> <br /> Plus, just because they normaly amble about doesn't mean they couldn't hypothetically move fast. It's probably just not worth the bother most of the time, what with their ability to teleport everywhere and all.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I assumed they were slow-moving too, based on their descriptions in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(327);'>BL</span> books (Dark Creed comes to mind) and their portrayal in Dawn of War I.  Actually I thought from an <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(115);'>RTS</span> tactical + fluff point of view they were perfect in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(324);'>DoW</span>.  Units generally were slow as molasses but had a variety of teleport options (Monolith etc.) BUT those were on cooldowns.  So you could pull off the most amazing ambush-bait-switch-flank attack by blowing everything, but then leave yourself horribly exposed footslogging for the next few minutes.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ well, how's this for fluff. they don't move <u>then</u> fire like humans with rifles, they move <u>and</u> fire because they're so, well, purposful. rapid fire/assault can represent whether the decided to raise thier axes or not, being so slow and all they probably can't switch between the two functions with much efficiency]]></description>
