He dwells within a shadowy realm where darkness reigns. After all, darkness IS the primordial fear. The closer to the center one goes, the darker it gets. Eventually, no light will push back the darkness, be it psychic, natural, or artificial. Any mortals who venture to his realm usually expect to be confronted by their worst fear, but this is not the way that Enkedesh operates. Instead, as the traveller moves closer and closer inwards, lesser fears of his begin to crop up, assaulting him from the darkness. He will be assaulted not by his worst fears, but instead by the things that he was unaware he truly feared.

Enkedesh prefers small, relatively weak demons in his service, who take the form of slender imps. These creatures are less effective as mainline combatans, and far more efficient at stealth, subterfuge, and ambush.

The heavy guns of his armies are the Undying. They are frail looking demons who posess moderate skill in combat. Their main powerhouse ability is their nigh invulnerability. They can survive lascannons, chainswords, and direct hits from orbital bombardments. These weapons do not bounce off the demon or leave it unphased, however. Each weapon will damage the creature as much as would be expected, only for it to rise and resume its attacks, much to the horror of its opponent.

He is depicted as a thin figure, dressed in funerary clothes of whatever culture is representing him. (Eldar, human, etc.) His face is always hooded, and it is only assumed that he is male. None know for sure. (Although some cultures refer to him as a female, this is not a case of both being true, as with Slaanesh, it is merely a case of the truth not being known.)
