StarBomber109 takes on HEAVY GEAR

So, I've decided that instead of starting another 40k army, I'm going to spend my hard earned cash exploring new games and painting techniques, so with that, I bought this

Not the best photo I know, but it'll do for now, besides, there's no paint in this photo, so I can use my crappy cellphone camera. I just want to say first off, I'm very impressed with DP9's casting, I"m so used to GWs metal models with their 10lb of flash everywhere, this recon pack had literally about 3 pieces of flash. The only thing that bugged me was the total lack of any kind of instruction, which I've heard is a theme in dream pods kits so lets hope I don't mess something up (keep watching this blog, I'll bet sometime I'll glue hunter arms to a grizzly or something )

Anyways, this is just the start, I'm painting the recon squad now, and I plan to get a fire support squad. To keep myself motivated to paint, I"m going to start one of these. This is my first ever P&M blog.

Had to look up a couple things, like I'm building an Aller tank at the moment and I didn't realize the 'official' Hardy Aller variant included the extended turret bustle piece.

(I need to find an hour or two and get the drill bits out, as I want to magnetize the turret pieces in place.)

For the Northern minis, I'd be most worried about confusing Hunter and Jaguar parts, as they're similarly scaled.

Automatically Appended Next Post:

VikingScott wrote:There was a thread a while back that had a lot of people shouting about how bad the rule for heavy gear was.
Sorry to break the news

There were also arguments tot he contrary.

What game do you feel has a 'perfect' rules set?
