Chaos Lord WIP

I had an old Chaos Lord just lying around so I primed him white and decieded to try out this wet blending technique I've been researching. Here's a result of his cape, I'm quite proud of the results, but tell me what yall think.

Looks like the white may need some work, and a nice black wash on the cape might help, but aside that I do think that is a very good white you achieved, better than any white I've ever done.

RAM

Why thank you, the white is still a work in progress. Once done, I expect the model to have sort of a dirty,pre-heresy death guard color scheme to him. Its just for a practice paint job though, the piece itself will probaly never see the board.

What I'm really interested in hearing are the color transitions in the cape using wet blending.

I have one pic i will upload tomarrow. It's of better quality and shows the contrast better since it was taken outside.

I'm considering making a blog of these "experiments", where I set a goal and see if it was accomplished or not.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As said, here is the pic I took outside.

I'd shade the cloak with a Dark green wash, would really make the red highlights come out and make your model cohesive.

Got any photos of the front?

Re:Chaos Lord WIP

The white was simply a little test that went so-so. I wasn't exactly sure how to get a good blend for the white without the guy looking like a gray scale. That being said, I'm really not proud of the front. In fact, this guy will probaly be one of my practice models, one which I can strip repeatedly and paint with new techniques I am interested in.

Green Wash huh? I've herd that from several sources but havn't had the set to try it.

Darkening foundations red is a bit of a pain, but some scorched brown did the trick.
