Is it completely crazy, or could it work? Remember that it is a casual, non competetive army, that will mostly be playing against <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(95);'>MEQ</span> armies. I have enough anti-tank, a bit anti-horde (which I will rarely be facing anyway), and I have a lot of tough units that can capture objectives. I have a lot of flexibility in my deployment, because the enemy always deploys first and then I can choose where and how to engange him.<br /> The reclusiarch goes with the death company, the chaplain and priest go with the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(457);'>JP</span> assault marines, and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(262);'>DP</span> assault marines drop first and fire away with their special weapons untill the others arrive as support.<br /> Thank you in advance.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ What are you talking about? I've got 4! three ten-man assault squads and one scout squad. They can, when combat squadded, capture up to 7 objectives!<br /> <br /> The assault marines aren't that great in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span>, but they can fire loads of plasma or melta shots when they arrive. The turn after, then they can assault. They can't assault when arriving with jump packs either, so what is your point?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Ah yes. It appears you cannot write a list properly <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(84);'>lol</span>. You put <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span> troops then elites which thrown me out and then lists more troops; strange.<br /> <br /> My point is about arriving from deep strike is they'll get blasted to pieces when they arrive. Sure with melta you'll pop a single vehicle and with plasma might do some damage; that's it. You'll stand there get shot and die next turn. They're called assault marines for a reason, jump packs gives you 18" assault range. That's my point. ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I tried a pod list for my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span>... and subsequently most of my stuff (<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span>, etc.) didn't do very much. <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span> are built to get the charge, and podding in is the best way NOT to get a charge... I highly recommend running a jump-pack heavy list.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Alright I can see that they would be a lot more effective with jump packs, I completely forgot that I could just buy even more jump packs as bitz from <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span>. 				<description><![CDATA[ I think i see what hes doing with the drop pod, don't know if its worth the drop pod though. With that locator beacon he could drop three-four units possible per round right on target, however this would only work in annihilation games and such where kill points are the winner and your enemy is in tight formation. This would work particularly well against tau or camp heavy armies where emplacements win. However since 70% of games are not like this and tau are a rare commodity, the drop pod is really a waste. If you buy it for the locator beacon and don't use it, whats the point? And if you try to use it with the locator beacon in the wrong game type, whats the point?<br /> <br /> Any way final point. Maybe keep the pod for use in the correct game types, but loose it for your general list. You can always rotate it in, however if there is another way to do what is just described above please explain. The drop pods costs a pretty penny and if it can avoid being used all the better. <img src="/s/i/a/5d13fa41280d6fdef786d41bc175d3f6.gif" border="0"> ]]></description>

If I dropped it further away, they would never make it into <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> because they now are footslogging. <br /> <br /> For the same amount of points I could get a (fast!) Razorback which has room for the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span> + chappy/reclusiarch. I could then save some points other places and upgrade it with a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(126);'>TL</span> assault cannon or something similar.<br /> <br /> Do you think that this would be viable? I could start it out of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LOS</span> and then go flat out and pop smoke in my first turn, effectively bringing me somewhat close to the enemy.
