Well i have started building and Painting a set of Blood Angels (for my 8yo) and some Orks. I must say it has been a very time consuming and frustrating month as i have learnt all about it via the tried and tested way, ie i tried and tested it. I will post some pictures of how i am going and if anyone has any sugestions please feel free to point me in the right direction.

I am finding however the extra time taken in putting them together is worth it. I am really enjoying the Orks as there is so much one can do with them. Although i plan to paint the Angels first so i have more practice.

I invested in a airbush which has made undercoating very easy. I am not happy with my base colour as i followed advice from my local shop and it came up very dark so i am going for a dirty look now, work with what you have so to speak.

This is my Dreadnaught, i painted it last night. I am not sure about the rules of making them but i found it fun. I started by spraying it with skull white, then a coat of Mechrite red was applied with the spray gun, then a good coat of Blood Red. It looked very nice and red although dark.

I then washed it with Badab Black paying attention to the deep recesses. I highlighted the shoulders and a few other places with a dry brush of Blood red annd then a very small edge highlight with the Blazing Orange. The Gun's and a few other little area were painted Chaos black and then highlighted with Boltmetal, the guns were then highlighted with shining gold.

The areas to be gold were base coated with Calthan Brown and then dry brushed with Shining Gold. The purity seals were given a coat of Dheneb Stone and washed with Ogryn Flesh and the wax bits under coated withknarlog green, painted with dark angels green and then washed to create shadow with thraka green.

i washed the underside and creavases then with ogryn flesh to deepen the red. i havent done the base yet as im stuck for ideas. Any advice, comments, constructive critiscim are all invited
