First, who has used epoxy and sand, mixed, to create a mud effect? I swear I read about it somewhere, but I could be hallucinating. It is the sort of resin in the two tubes that squeezes into a mix. Then, add sand and smear it onto a base. Anyone?

Also, has anyone used the Liquitex Resin Sand Gel Medium to do any effects on bases? They claim it dries to a concrete like finish, so that might be pretty nifty.

I am not sure about 2 part epoxy. I imagine it would be possible, although I don't know how tinting it would go.

Recently I tried this. It turned out pretty good for an experiment.
Except I did it like this:

Paint base with PVA.
Add sand.
Add watered PVA. BLOWDRY.
Keep painting on PVA to taste, blowdry-ing after each coat
Devlan Messiah wash or two.
An' Job's a good 'un!
