Bloodknight question.

Yes I've been spamming with Vamp questions lately and here is another one for the mighty minds of Dakka.

Bloodknights, Varghulfs, & the Black Coach all have the Vampire rule.

The VC book says that "Vampire characters are wizards, as explained in the Black Art. A Vampire is a level 1 wizard, a Vampire lord is a level 2 wizard. Also models and units with the Vampire rule are affected differently by certain items, abilities and spells." pg35

Does this mean these models are all Lvl 1 wizards and therefore can channel power/dispell dice, cast spells, etc?

Bloodknight question.

No. Vampire characters are wizards. Character is the operative word. Lords and Heroes are characters. Blood knights are not.

I'll go ahead and say that champions aren't characters as well, despite the fact that they borrow some rules that characters get for example Look Out Sir.

Bloodknight question.

So now my question becomes, how does the "Vampire" rule affect these models? A guy at my FLGS told me today that these units can't march outside of the general's range just like everyone else...is this correct? And if so then what is the point of these models having this rule.

Also, vampires and vampire units can only be healed for 1 wound per spell (Invocation, Raise Dead and Army). I.E. it would take 3 separate castings to heal 3 wounds on a Vargulf or raise 3 dead Blood Knights.
