Troops with spears fight in 3 ranks if they are not in a horde if they don't charge. If they do charge, then they only fight with 2 ranks. High Elf Spearmen and Seaguard have "Martial Prowess" which is a special rule that allows them to fight in an extra rank.

My question is this, with Martial Prowess, do High Elf Spearmen and Seaguard attack with 3 ranks on the charge?

So, then if extra ranks USR stacks they can attack with 3 ranks on the charge if they are not a horde and they can attack with 4 ranks on the charge with a horde?

Because the spear section under the weapons section states they can only attack with 2 ranks on the charge instead of 3 for a normal unit.
