Someone's been playing Queen's Blade!



Now I can finally play house with my Orcs! "Snotgrot! You cut that out this minute or so help me there will be hell to pay when your father comes home!"



Dark Elf Glaive Thrower, except that isn't a glaive, a glaive is a pole arm, that's a shuriken. That way the heroes are in cover waiting for someone to throw a pole arm at them but all of the sudden they all get killed because tehy weren't expecting shurikens. This is why you can't trust Dark Elfs, they're sneaky and they lie to you.



The caption says they're women of the night. I don't know that character class because I don't play girl characters but I think it's like a thief-acrobat or maybe a ninja.



I like how these 2 models tell a little story. Iris and Frank are hanging up one-way signs in Atlantis and then the Sea Creature of Blood Reef comes by and tells them that the zoning commission has not approved the new traffic patterns so they have to stop.

Finally Reaper has made a Ninja of the Ghost Dragon Clan, thank goodness! Now I don't have to keep using my Shadow Tiger Clan ninjas to 'count as' Ghost Dragon clan ninjas.



I have no idea what Pathfinder is but I giggle each time they call one of their characters an 'Iconic' anything. Oh he's an ICONIC Ghost Dragon Clan Ninja you say, not just a cliched one!



Apparently the magic system required exposed cleavage and bare legs to feel the mystical emitions properly.



But not for this guy thank goodness.



What's this? A woman? Fully dressed with armor that acutally protects her? How can this be?



Y'know, I don't know why but I know I need her. Maybe I'll take her out to sing when I've tabled an opponent.

I've got two right now, with the Reaper guy in the mail as number three. For my first Rogue Trader I use the Lord Commissar model to represent one with a strong military background that he is unwilling to relinquish. The other is represented by a PP Arcane Tempest Gun Mage Captain with a laspistol and chainsword swap to make the model fit in more with the rest.

I think this same thing whenever I see new Reaper Mini's as well.

What I'd like most from Reaper is consistency. A few of them are pretty damn detailed and characterful, most are just "meh". The overwhelming majority of their female sculpts are made in the fantasy "here's my vital organs, come and kill me!" style that I despise (and rather openly despise as well, so I don't usually try and repeat myself because the mods get antsy if I do as this has caused a few bad arguments in the past), or if they aren't fantasy they use the prostitute look instead (high heels, high skirt, bare stomach). I dislike this style and it makes me dislike Reaper miniatures in general. There is nothing more to say.

And for that, i do agree to an extent with the armour and stupidity, but at the end of the day, every sculpter has a style, something that will rarely change.

On a note though, how would you think towards a mage type female? (clothing wise)
Alot of these models (both GW and other companies) dont wear armour, so its basic clothing.

Guess you simple dont get what I mean. They are awesome sculpts but for someone who wants to convert female models there are NOONE!!! on the market that makes heads I would even consider using. I have looked at allot of sites that offer conversion models and most only offer 1 set of female heads and they dont even look good.

So why is it that noone sells good female head sets? You can take 50 or more of reapers minis an just cast the heads and Im sure allot of people would buy that. Im not rich enough to spend 4-10€ on a model just to chop off its head for a conversion. Its like the industry has a hardon for buff male models...

By all means, point me to a store that sell head sprues for 28mm heroic and I will gladly go buy them if they look good, but as it is I have not been able to find any yet. Seems like waiting for GW to redo the sisters range in plastic is the only choice.

I agree with this, where are the female models in power armour? Its like their market is teenage boys or old perverts. What about us that want practical miniatures? That look realistic? The best armour a female can get should cover more than 5% of her body....

They do have a Fantasy Skirmish game system called Warlord 2 (second edition was released last year) and they have just relaesed the second faction book "Savage North", which has the lists and stats for 8 new factions plus complete set of rules . I have been a devoloper and playtester for this game since 2003 . Why doesn't anyone make sets of female heads? Maybe because it's not profitable to do so? Maybe because there's a very limited amount of figures on the market you could use them for (plastic Cadians just barely, and they'd look hideous with just the heads swapped)?

For Reaper it makes more economic sense to make their current standalone range, than to simply become a mosquito attached to GW's flank.

They employ a sizable stable of sculptors, which is the reason for the wide range of artistic styles in their product lines. Some of the guys and gals they employ put out finely detailed works of art that'll snap in a slight breeze, and some put out thick, chunky tabletop pieces that won't break if your buddy drops his flagon of Mountain Dew on it during your weekly D&D session.

As for the complaints about female skin...have you ever SEEN fantasy art? Please, take 45 seconds and Google Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, Larry Elmore, etc. I'll wait.

Ok, are you back? Yeah, so, the entire history of fantasy art and image is FAR worse than Reaper's models.

Now, if you want fully-armored female models, take a look at Reaper's Sisters of the Blade. The only skin on those are their faces.
Want butch, non-archetype females? Do some searching of their Figure Finder. They've got female orcs, half orcs, monks, etc.

Reaper is a small company, and so they have to make what actually sells. The vast majority of fantasy mini painters are male, and males like boobies. I hope that's not news to you all. Their company mascot is a flippin' succubus. The female archetype minis allow them to make money to put out niche models like tiki pygmies, giant bears, or tiny cat familiars.

Sexy females are Reaper's Space marine equivalent. Oh, NOW I get Melissia's problem with Reaper.... I am always disappointed that very few people are aware of Reaper Warlord. It is a great game system with many models to choose from and it is not too expansive to start. Side note, apparently he (and she?) lives up around the Lehigh Valley. Apparently lots of famous (sorta) artists move out this way.

Edit: also, I bought Reaper's heads, and they are a little iffy.
