Flames of War items on sale upto 40% off @ Hobbycraft [UK]

Popped into the Hobbycraft store in Basildon [UK] this morning and they have all of their Badger airbrushes and components set up for clearance, so any where between 30% and 80% off.

Good opportunity to stock up on noses and needles if you have badger equipment, but they also had compressors and airbrushes kits in the clearance sale as well.

I'm not sure if this a local thing or nationwide (nothing on the website) but worth a look if you are near one.

[I also have a sneaking suspision that they mAy do a Flames of War sale/clearance at some point soon as their stock gets further and further towards the back of the store and no one but me seems interested in the stuff, so keep 'em peeled!]

As if to underline my own seer powers, Hobbycraft has cut the price on a number of Flames of War box sets and blisters.

I was having one of my usual mooches around the place when I noticed that they have yellow labled about 30% of their FoW stock.

Mostly German stuff although there seemed to be a bit for everyone.

I walked out with the following (Mealstrom in brackets figure for comparison);

Tom Stanley 6lber box - £15.99 (£23.50)
Sexton SP Arty - £4.99 (£6.75)
Airbourne Jeep - £4.99 (£6.75)
M10 Archillies - £4.99 (£6.75)
Ranger Ruler - £5.99 (£7.65)
7th Armoured Gaming Set - £8.99 (£12.50)
Cromwell Platoon - £21.49 (£31.50)

Not Britian but I picked up a German 88 box set for £9.99 because the gun barrels were missing. Also pretty good once I get my mitts on some barrels!

Then to top it all off I got and extra 30% off some of the above for what is listed as a SUMMER SALE on the receipt. No mention in store of this, probably just an error by the soppy doris on the till that saved me an extra £11.14 but I wasn't complaining. YOINK!

I will call them to see if the sale was legit tomorrow and let everyone know.

Their webstore doesn't list much compaired to their shop stock but they have the Tigers Marsch for £35 Panther A box for £25 and 88's box for £29.99.

Damn never did get those AVRE's that I wen't in for!

Bit of threadomancy I know, but I picked up a Badger Airbrush and compressor for £45 today that (supposedly) retailed for £225.

Bargain! Especially because it was £90 last week. So the deals are still there.

Makes me wonder why they're discounted so much...?

I think that they finish certain lines and start by putting a yellow sticker on the shelf, then eventually they move it to a discintinued line section. They have run out of FOW stuff on sale, but as you have noticed have lots of airbrushing equipment.

I'm curious Grim, where is your local store? I have found that only certain shops do this. Mine is Basildon.
