one suggestion is to push the snow into the glue with your fingers after sprinkling it onto the glue. i flocked my deathwing army with partial snow by my normal method (apply glue, then dip base into snow) and left them overnight to dry. when i came back the next morning to shake off the extra snow, EVERYTHING came off!! lol, the snow flock wasn't heavy enough to sink into the elmers to bond with it and just sat on top of it while it dried. i had to do it all over again.

It is a filler for R/C Airplanes. You mix w/ PVA glue to consitency of toothpaste then glop it on where you want and sprinkle a few more balloons on top. Hard as a rock when done.

I like dried/dead sticks and trees on snow boards as well. Usually slate grey. You can see spots of orange on the tree to add color to the composition. GW did a great snow board w/ some bones from a model kit.

I use thick grained salt, which I undercoat with olive green, then heavily drybrush with dark sepia, then a lighter drybrush with light gray, then light dry brush with white.

I prefer a bit more of a sparse touch with snow, personally. Painting your entire board from a light blue up to white will give a bit of a snowy feel, but it will be rather boring. Patches of dead grass or frozen pools/puddles of melted snow can help break up the white expanse. Rocks, small sections of low walls, bare trees, and fallen logs make great scattered terrain. A touch of snow in a few key points ties them into the board while maintaining the stark relief from their snowy surroundings.

Winter boards look better bleak than bright, so don't be afraid to mix it up a bit. If you want your board to represent an iceflow, then by all means ignore this, but if it's a normal battlefield in winter then you should see mud and stone and all the usual debris, as well as the white and fluffy.
