I ended up liking 2 colours. A darkish red and a green\blue colour. I bought these plus the colours that I thought where good for shades and highlights.

The fun bit. Paint up some test mini's. This is the bit that really made me realise what I want and what I thought looks good. Also, because im using blues and reds my army stands out and is fun to paint. Not a fan of really dark colours on minis. assorted veins n such: khemri brown with a unknown brand red ink wash
chitten armoure/ carapace:hawk turquoise with a 50/50 mix of asrmen blue and hawk turquoise for a wash
Weaponry like boneswords/ claws/ teeth/ insert tyranid cc weapon here:charadon granite with an asurmen blue wash
