Dettol leaves a nasty thick goopy residue which is a bitch to shift unless you use a toothpick in all the recesses. Takes too damned long too and any splashes stick to whatever you've just hit.

Fairy Power Spray. 2 squirts, toothbrush to get it into the nooks and crannies, leave it. 15 minutes later quick brush under water. Done!
Splashes on surfaces, if you get any, is water soluble so just wipes off.
Doesn't make your mini's smell either.
In short: Yes.

Some people use Dettol, others use Acetone, others use brake fluid. All of them have limitations, fumes, can't use on plastics, green stuff etc, etc.

Having persevered with most of them and swore an awful lot I found that Fairy was an absolute Godsend and has virtually no drawbacks and most important is quick!

If you're stuck and really want to try it, PM me and I am sure we can arrange something.

Brake fluid did not strip the base coat. It worked on the color though.

I repeat: brake fluid only removed the paint, not the base coat.

Unfortunately, I still have to work on the Chaos Black, it would have been cool if I wanted a black base coat. Maybe GW changed the recipe recently?

'Will try oven cleaner. Without acetone obviously. If all things fail, I'll give the pvc floor cleaner a go or think about a mail order of Fairy/removeALL.
