Psychological disorders

Im going off my meds as we speak after being treated for lythimia (major depression and hypermania).
So out of interest how many of you out their were treated or are being treated fir simething?

Share your experiences, and what meds you were on.

I will go first. It started were out of nowhere I started having suicidal ideation's (thoughts), depression, and manic symptoms. I would spend money I didnt have, and tended to not need to sleep and acted irationally, and even went into self harm. It escalated to the point were I was paranoid, and on two occasions my parents found me talking to someone who was not there LOL.

However I got treated, and since I study psych I can explain to you that such disorders are not permanent (excluding schizophrenia and bipolar disorders ect). It is simply that if you have a book shelf, the books are not in order, and through the application of meds it is put back in the order it should be. Before you wonder why I went on meds, for three years I tried every other type of therapy out their before turning to medication.

My life is back to normal now, and I feel that people need not fear talking about their experiences.

So if you feel comfortable share in this forum.

Talking is the best therapy out their after all.

DakkaDakka is not a psychological support forum. It is inappropriate and possibly harmful to discuss such matters here as you will get all kinds of answers.

Consequently I am locking the thread.

I strongly suggest that you join a forum dedicated to mutual support, rather than a wargames forum.
