Did I get a bad pot of Kommando Khaki?

So I bought a pot of Kommand Khaki citadel paint, and to me it just seems really thin and watery. When i take it right out the pot and paint some on a plate first to wipe off the excess, it is very runny and transparent. painting with this color leaves terrible streaks, and it is impossible to dry brush with as the paint just flows into cracks much like a wash. Has anyone else experienced this with this particular color, or did I possibly get a watered down pot or something?

When you get new paints youve got to shake the ever living crap out of them. Maybe you just arnt mixing it enough. If that doesnt work, try using something to actually stir the paint. They shouldnt be that thin/runny. If neither of those tips work, then buy new paint.

Fixxxer76, my pot of Kommando Khaki is exactly the same, even after stirring with a mixing stick and a very vigorous shaking. I've concentrated it by leaving the cap cracked instead of completely closed, allowing it to dry out some. Check it at least once a day to make sure it hasn't thickened too much though.

Did I get a bad pot of Kommando Khaki?

In a recent WD, they actually added kommando khaki to a mix not as a pigment but as a flow aid (and explained why the paint is the way it is), I also have a thin watery pot, the trick I have found is to work in very thin layers, and just build it up gradually, a similar colour with less effort for drybrushing may be one of the foundation colours, perhaps a mix of dheneb stone + a suitable brown?

Did I get a bad pot of Kommando Khaki?

Mine is watery but I just use multiple thin layers (as previously mentioned). And as for dry brushing, you either need to dry it out a little bit (again, as mentioned previously) or you're doing it wrong and leaving too much paint on the brush.

I haven't had this hobby long but I've learned quickly that there are dramatic differences between paints, you need to learn to avoid certain paints and mix your own, or develop a method to use these different paints effectively.
