Army Painter Red Primer

Hey guys, I used the Army Painter Red Primer on my Blood Angel project and found it worked pretty well. I wrote a short blurb about it on CNC, check it out here if you want. I found priming the red straight over the plastic worked just as well as "dusting" the models with white primer first. Granted the point of this army was to finish it fast to sell it so I washed nearly the whole model so the brightness of the red mattered less. What do you guys think? With the Army Painter Primers do you need to "dust" prime the models with white first to get the best color? I know that is absolutely the case with the Yellow.

Army Painter Red Primer

Army Painter's primers are great. They flow evenly and completely, and although I've never used their red, their colored primers have worked great for me.

The pressure in the cans is rather high and the spray is strong.

I've used their grey, white, green, and bone; all work great without preliminary "base" coats.

I've wanted to try their bone spray. How does it turn out? Do you need to pre-undercoat it like you do with the yellow?

I'm using the bone on my DE and it worked pretty well over the gray plastic but I like it better over a coat of white primer first. I made the mistake of using Dragon Red over a part plastic/part resin land raider and the slightly different colored materials showed under the paint. Everything else after that got a coat of gray primer first.

I'd bet you would have the same problem with the bone spray over two different colored basic materials.
