				<description><![CDATA[ Has anyone used a Master of the Forge  so they could run  6 dreadnoughts in an army? If so, what was your results  and any recommendations for a competitive list? Is running a 6 dreadnoughts list even competitive or is it asking for trouble?]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I dunno what Chowderhead is talking about honestly. <img src="/s/i/a/39ea8e0dbfb45dcc6b802cd0e198dba3.gif" border="0"><br /> <br /> Anywho, a 6 Dreadnought list can indeed be a nasty foe to many.  6 Ironclads in Pods is tough for ANYBODY to deal with, while 6 Dreadnought of the shooty variety with Autocannons, Lascannons, and Missile Launchers will end mech armies and be very able to tie up squads without anything capable of Penning AV12.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ My drop marines use this idea with 4 dreads in pods.  2 of the melta type, 1 with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span> and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span>, and one iron clad.  These all drop in on turn one.  other pods have sternguard or tactical squads for mop up.  If opponents try to reserve their vehicles, then I reverse the drop order.  <br /> <br /> List can be super explosive and totally shut down the opponent, or the dreads do almost nothing and dissappoint.  Usually more of explosive, but failed melta's can be bad.  <br /> <br /> Against hordes you have to play totally different and suffer from horrible mobility.  You should be winning by turn 2 or 3, if not your probably not going to win.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ i never have run the full 6 Dreds, but taking a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MotF</span> does allow for some <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(187);'>FoC</span> shifting.<br /> <br /> for example, you might want some Sternguard and your Dreadnoughts.<br /> <br /> i once ran a Pedro Kantor list with a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MotF</span>, Pedro, 1 Squad of Sternguard, 1 Squad of Shooty Terminators with 2 Cyclones, and then 4 Dreadnoughts(1 Las/missile, 2 Rifleman, and 1 IClad)<br /> <br /> <br /> if you won't be using your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(57);'>HS</span> slots for any thing else then using it for Dreadnoughts is pretty nifty if you have other Elites you would like.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I usually run a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MotF</span> with 3; shifting 1 from one slot to the other(Effectively 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(57);'>HS</span>, 1 Elite, 1 Swing) Depending on which I need more in an individual List, another Elite, or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(57);'>HS</span>.<br /> <br /> Most of the time I have 5 Termies and a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(261);'>LRC</span>, so if I want to take 1 more of either slot, I switch the 3rd dread to the other slot. It often sees the Field as an Elite so I can throw the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MotF</span>(with Conversion Beamer) Into a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(328);'>ML</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>Dev</span> squad.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Although I know this isn't part of the actual <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>OP</span>'s question, a really nasty way to use the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(384);'>MOTF</span> is by getting his laser of doom, and putting him on a bike.. Be prepared to lose friends though..<br /> <br /> ANYWAY: <br /> <br /> I don't really think that having that many dreads is a truly viable idea for an army. Melta's will destroy you if your list is alpha striking ironclads and melta dreads, and if they castle up to protect their vehicles there's actually a pretty good chance that few of your dreads will be able to deep strike close enough to go target hunting. (this is by no means guaranteed though)<br /> <br /> If, instead, you decide to go with dakka Dreads, you may have better luck. But I think there are better choices that are more durable or more killy. <br /> <br /> While the dreadnought has the potential to achieve a happy medium between killing power, range, mobility, and durability, I don't think that when you consider these strengths, and compare them to the strengths and weaknesses of other units, that dreadnoughts are able to keep up. <br /> <br /> They are almost certainly better than techmarines, but Terminators, and sternguard, are, on the whole, better <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(71);'>imho</span>. <br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I've a friend who runs 6 dreds in drop pods, and he has had mixed results. Some games everything comes down, hits its target, and obliterates the opposition. Other games his stuff comes in and misses, then his alpha strike gets hammered and the rest of his army comes in piecemeal, and gets taken apart. He tells me he loves his list, and it preforms better more often than it performs poorly, so he would recommend giving it a go. <br /> <br /> I myself frequently have considered a list like this, but have balked at the idea of transporting places it to play games. It just seems difficult to move that many drop pods safely or easily. ]]></description>
