Kar 98 Kurz Rifling

I look at my Kar 98 rifling last time I cleaned it (a week ago) and the rifling at the bore looks a little to worn. The Rifling starts about 4mm to 6mm in front of the bore and the edges of the rifling (were it starts) are smooth. I don't know if there is anything wrong with that or not. Could someone please let me know. Thank you.

How old's the rifle and how many rounds have you put through it?

BTW, referring to this as the Kar 98 Kurtz is redundant. Karabiner implies "short" (Kurtz).

It 4 to 6 mm in front of the breech. The rifling starts smooth and then builds up over 10mm. I have only put 560 rounds (mil surp) through it.
The Kar 98 action was made in early 1940 in Berlin. The stock was made in 1942 (have no idea how that happened).

The reason why I put the kurz there is because there are 3 different Kar 98s.
Karabiner 98 AZ
Karabiner 98 B
Karabiner 98 K

All three are different.
Sights and length.

No I don't think that is because it doesn't have any of the distinquishing marks that the russians put on them.
Still have the locking screws.
On the Action ALL serial numbers match (besides the bolt).
Over all there are like 7 different serial numbers on the rifle. Stock, barrel bands, barrel band spring, firing pin assembly, bolt body and action.

Our government feels the need to use an electric pencil to grind in where the rifle was brought into the US at. Thus killing the value as a collector's piece.
