Beating dark eldar in cc?

I know it helps to get the charge to get the extra attack, but with their high iniative and the crazy weapons you can give them, they were downright demoralizing to assault last night. Even his warriors( they had a fnp token) wiped a squad. Shooting seems like the solution but his flickerfields and night shields helped him immensely. Do I just focus fire one at a time, or do something else? Thanks!

First off, what army are you playing?

If they are buying flicker/night they are paying a little more of a premium to make sure you do not shoot at them that much.

Against warriors, they are still only S3 with a couple attacks, just charge them and you can hold out for a while.

Shoot them down. It is not that hard to get by a couple 5+ invuls before they go down with some heavy amounts of fire.

Make them footslog to you and just shoot em down as they walk. DE usually bring small units of dudes and it isn't enough to deal with some small arms fire.

Yeah, what army are you playing, this'll help us suggest specific units. But as a guidline, i'd reccommend sheer numbers (10 kabalite warriors with FNP may be able to take damage, but they won't be able to give much out) or power weapons as these will ignore FNP. I played a game against DE with my eldar a few days ago and by howling banshees literally ripped through entire squads. "HA!" i cried, "who's dishing out pain now!" (but in a nice tone of voice)

It's always more advisable to shoot at them, but to do that you have to take out the transports as a crafty DE player with decent terrrain can reach you quite easily.

For shooting, anything S6+ is golden, decent at taking out the paper thin skimmers and ignoring the FNP. Asking for S6 in most armies isn't hopeful but if you have Eldar you'll have S6 all over the place.

As for combat, you need something that can hit first, hit hard or survive being hit. A unit with 2 of those would be great.
It all depends on your army, and what the DE army contains so i couldn't give specific info.

Once the wychs get FNP they are pretty hard to down if there is cover around, as 4+/4+ cover/FNP is hard to get many wounds through. The trick really is to target the raiders early if they don't have a fnp, as an exploded raider will take half the wychs with it.

I was playing an IG opponent the other day, and he wrecked 75% of my transports and killed half my wychs first turn. It took me until turn 3 to get all my wychs in combat, and they swept through his lines like a wildfire. A powerblob even went down to a single unit of wychs. By the end of the KP game on turn 7 I had only a couple wychs left, but they were maxed on pain tokens and had scored lots of KPs.
Try typhoon speeders, they can move 12" and still fire to krak missiles a turn. 8+ will tear thru raiders, and you out range their lances... somewhat, usually they can move 12'' and still hit you...
Beating dark eldar in cc?

Wyches are tough to handle in CC because they can live a very long time with the 4++ and FNP (assuming they had a Hemonculus give them a pain token). You can get a pretty decent amount of str6 shooting into a BA list though (depending on your style of course) with Baal Preds and Razorbacks. Assault Cannons are good against pretty much everything in the DE book.

I would try to shoot down the Wyches' rides as quick as possible to get them out into the open where you can shoot them down.

Beastmaster units are annoying like Wyches in that they take forever to kill. They're frustrating to shoot at as well because a well built Beastmaster unit will have 5+ Khymerae in it so they'll have a 4++ against everything. You've got to try and grind these units down with your shooting. The Razorwing Flocks output a huge amount of rending attacks so they're a bit more killy in CC than the Wyches too.

Warriors should mostly bounce off of your Assault Squads in CC. Sure they strike first but they have bad str and aren't resilient to your attacks at all really.

Incubi can be a lot to handle if you aren't careful. You really need to get the charge on them so you can get FC up and running, and you need a lot of power weapon attacks to get the job done. They are tough when they have FNP and they don't care about your FNP because they're all power weapons. Storm Shields are really good against these guys.

BA V DE really depends in the DE have a pain token.

If they don't have a single pain token BA should slaughter DE as they are T3 and charging BA are S5 so massed regular wounds works out pretty well.

Once they get a single pain token their units get FNP and massed regular wounds becomes less effective.

Killing any unit including IC will give DE a pain token.
