				<title>Dealing with units holing up in buildings.</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ So with 8th edition came the new (and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>imo</span> extremely stupid) rules for building.<br /> <br /> Its becoming really common players to start bunkering a unit of 40ish models in a building with their <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(14);'>BS</span>, General, and a level 4 in a building.<br /> <br /> Now according to the rules for assaulting a building you each pick 10 models to fight and have them go at it. This effectively makes their general, caster and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> completely safe from attack for a very long time.<br /> <br /> Also despite losing combat they are automatically steadfast, and your forced outside the building having to wait until your next turn to try again. <br /> <br /> I figured there were a few ways to go about dealing with this.<br /> <br /> 1) Ignore it completely and mop up everything else. <br /> <br /> This seems like the easiest thing to do, however this lets the caster just sit there with 360 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(85);'>LoS</span>, blasting the hell out of your army, not to mention the unit inside with general, caster lord, and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> is worth like 1000ish points. <br /> <br /> 2) assault and hope it breaks.<br /> <br /> again, this just seems like insanity, until the general and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> actually become attackable, and its highly possible they will never be over the course of the game, they are looking at rerollable <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(82);'>ld</span> 9 to stay, which is pretty strong.<br /> <br /> 3) Shooting at it<br /> <br /> Against if you have a bunch of war machines this could possibly work, but with a -2 for shooting into cover your might pick one or two off each turn.<br /> <br /> <br /> What do you guys do against the bunker unit in a building list?<br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ ya, its all a question of whats in the building and what you have to get it out. Chaos warriors, saurus, swordmasters, and to a lesser extent undead, are all really hard to get out of a building. <br /> But certain units are just so good at killing things in buildings, and if you have warmachines or powerful magic of your own you can just blast them out. <br /> I recomend picking a winning tactic for when this happens (one of the above) and just use it relentlessly against anyone obnoxious enough to pull that stunt.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ My first experience with this was this last weekend in which I fought a unit of 40ish gors with their <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>, beastlord and a level 3 great bray in a building.  I chose to do 1) & 3) from your list, though I was helped greatly because his wizard didn't take any offensive spells, just shadow hexes and mindrazor.  He lost 15-20 models from the constant barrage of fire and finally hoped out, in time for my models to shoot him some more and/or bounce off.  Win to me by loads though as all else was dead.<br /> <br /> My real plan, however, was to hit the building with Crack's Call and level it <img src="/s/i/a/5d13fa41280d6fdef786d41bc175d3f6.gif" border="0">  But the winds did not blow in my favor, so I had to settle for waiting to see if he wanted to play.<br /> <br /> - Salvage]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ What might be a good idea is have 30+ infantry or 18+ monsterous infantry Assauling a building fight with 15 models instead of 10 (this will speed up the process of clearing them out).<br /> Likewise with 30/18 models, have the building only give soft cover instead of hard, because all the good hiding spots are taken.<br /> <br /> The problem with buildings seem to be when people put over 30 models instead.  It becomes a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(140);'>VP</span> denial bunker, that's very tough to route out.  Taking away the ability to flank/rear charge to get more models in, and combat never ongoing, it's an idea location for a level 4 wizard (or two).<br /> <br /> <br /> -Matt]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I play Dwarves, so I'd use 2 Organ Guns, 2 Cannons and all my missile fire from my 20 thunderers and 10 Quarrelers, as well as the anvil blasting, to thin thier numbers down ASAP. Then I'd send in my ranger longbeards.<br /> <br /> With my Orcs and Gobbos, it's a lot tougher. I'd probably go for impenetrable magic defense and leave them their and destroy everything else they had, and hope the victory condition wasn't hold the building. <br /> <br /> I'm currently building Chaos, who would use a variant of the Dwarf method but with magic instead of shooting, and they'd go in earlier as they are more powerful in combat.]]></description>
