my problem is as follows:
the other day my friend and i played our first game of high elves vs skaven, myself on the side of the chittering vermin. I was looking forward to the battle only to find 10 seconds into it teclis virtually flattened my army!

my plan was to use deathmaster skitch to take him out but i i didnt even get the chance to get near him before he wiped out 70 clanrats with that phoneix fire spell from high magic.

it completely puts me off playing skaven vs HE again knowing hes going to repeatedly use teclis and ruin my chances before they start!

Any advise of what i can do to slightly even the field????

This works best in non-VP games like Blood and Glory.
Either way its an uphill battle. The best thing to do is hit him the same way he hits you, thus leveling the playing field to who can do it better and faster.

i was thinking of using 13th spell on his unit (if he is in 1) but my slight issue with this tactic is that my grey seer and plague preist just cannot match teclis. His irresistable force is just insanely good for his points! out of interest if teclis was within 3" of a unit and i used 13th on him could he get look out sir roll on a 4+?

ideally i think my best tactic is to kill the git because his phoneix fire spell and the 1 thats desproys magic items are just too effective against skaven. my big issue is how do i get to him?

Take a feedback scroll like Leith said. That one item had me rethink how to protect my lvl 4.

With Skaven you should have plenty of bodies that him killing a unit shouldn't be that bad. How many points are you guys playing?

If you need to get there and kill him in combat something fast is preferable.
