Really though, wolf riders do the same job as spider riders and are much faster. Vanguard move+M9=hellafast.

You can even give the wolf riders shields to make not fast cav. It's not a great idea since they can't really fight, though. They are supposed to be killing warmachines and other targets of opportunity and fast cav is what allows them to get to those targets.

To answer you directly, I think that going from spiders to boars is a pretty big stretch.
If you want some spider riders, I'd try to do some conversions. but i know how you mean i hate spiders a huge amount but painting them wasnt so bad i just stared alot as i painted making sure they wouldnt go anywhere (:
