Trying something different. I don't want a tournament-optimized build (not sure a foot list is even tournament material in 5th), but I'd like at least a well built list. Please rip it apart because I've only ever done mechvet lists so far and I'm certain I've missed something.

Thanks!

EDIT: Updated per comments.
Why? why? my only soon... jajaja, no really why?.
Is a different list I can admit that, but is very simple to crush that,
The IG has many diferent options that make the same thing, the lord commisar is a bad option if you don`t have a very strong force behind his back.
The tyranids can rip you appart, and the space marines can laugh of you, if you really probe something new, why don`t use an Inquisitor Lord, is very powerfull and you can include some assasins (great option) or grey knights (not so god).

I like the IG in two version, many tanks or many troops. In the second case I preffer a powerfull leader, creed or straken (CATACHAN`S LEAD THE WAY!!!).
In the last tournament, my space wolves was destroy for a IG list whit many tanks, that was shame. I can`t croos the table game whit out casualties.

Look, the priest are really cool when you put in charge of a green recruit, you obtain better ledearship, and you can repeat failed to hit, but a lord commisar don`t apport anithing, is expensive, is no so hard, and finally, is a simple humman whit bad acctitude.

I don`t know, maybe a list whit several rough riders (when games workshop can allow that?, the calvary IG)

Imperial Guard 2000 Point Blob-shock

Looking good mate.
Guard are ideal for creating an all round army, to take on a variety of opponents. I really wouldn’t leave home without any ordinance.
I would normally say that with a foot based army you should look to play defensively, but with your conscripts bogging the enemy down in h2h this should work well.

Like the idea about using conscripts, though the result will probably be that they never reach full guardsmanhood and you’d def need the Commissars and Priests in the lead.
100 conscripts should be enough of an assault wave to free up the platoons to carry heavy weapons to take care of any enemy armour though, so maybe consider making one of them more range based.
Sound army list and really interesting tactics though, may have to give em a go myself.
All the best.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh and dont overlook auto cannons, best all round heavy weapon.

So, looking at the as-of-now most recently edited list, there is one thing that really stands out in my mind: you're bringing a horde without any troops. Seriously, 60 blobsmen is how many I bring at 750 points, and you're trying to make it work at 2000. The first thing you should do is drop lots of those upgrades in order to turn your conscripts into power blobs.
I'd drop the MoO, since most of your army is going to be running and gunning, and the body guard. The Astropath is still usefull, if you plan on outflanking the sentinels.

I'd drop some or all of the krak-grenades. 6+1d6, isn't going to be that helpful at cracking armor, especially considering that some of the squads that have krak-grenades also have melta bombs.

I'd use the points to add a few more special weapons to the CCS and PCS.

As for orders, I imagine the one for running might come in handy. You're gonna want to roll 6 with those blobs, especially the ones in front.

I would recommend more HWS and larger platoons.
Also, make usre you're not trying to have one squad do everything.
i mean, youve got plenty of squads, they might as well specialze.

Imperial Guard 2000 Point Blob-shock

Just a suggestion if you want a better alternative to the sentinels. Those Scout sentinels with lascannons are not really good IMHO. They're AV 10 open-topped and squadron rules apply so Immobilized = bye bye for 150 points
Why not get a vendetta instead?
3 TL Lascannons AV12 Front and side plus it's a skimmer can also outflank costs 130 points too.
