Gems, use the same colors as nmm gold -

Blue, Crimson fists I would would go to lbursleys site to check out his methods. I'm guessing it was mordian blue with a a 50-50 badab/asurmen wash, then mordian then ultra edge highlight.

I'm still testing the scheme, but for Crimson Fists I think I'm going with Necron Abyss, Fenris Grey (or Shadow Grey), Codex Grey and finally Fortress Grey. Depending on how you want them to look, you could use various washes in all sorts of ways - full body badab black to make it a muted very-dark blue, or just as "blacklining". Bear in mind that the highlighting "neutral" greys (just black + white, of which Shadow Grey isn't part) are painted in somewhat diluted quantities.

I avoid enchanted blue because it'll make the Crimson Fists look too "electric blue", and I haven't tested with Ultramarines blue because mine dried out :cries:

If I can get a camera, I'll try to post the results. MajorTom's suggestion is also good, LB does some pretty cool stuff. Doghouse over at Warseer also did some cool dark-blue marines, and m.ike here on dakka has recently posted a nice tutorial on Night Lords, but this one uses some colour mixing.

Re:yellow gems?

I use Necron Abyss, followed by a liberal wash of Badab Black, highlighted with Necron Abyss, then UM Blue, UM Blue + SW Gray, and SW Gray alone, finally finished with a light glaze of Asurmen Blue and matte medium on the highlights.

For your gems, I think Major Tom's got the right idea. I do orange eyes and gems for my Crimson Fists that are basecoated white then Sunburst Yellow and a smaller offset concentric oval of Blazing Orange, followed by the traditional dot of Skull White between layers. It's backwards from the traditional method, but it's a lot easier for me than getting that razor thin streak of yellow around the edge.
