you got the makings of quite a few competitive lists there

off the top of my head:

Kromac
Pureblood
Feral Warpwolf (Warpwolf heavy)
Gnarlhorn

the above is a good base for a very fast, hardhitting list with a surprising threat range, with a FREE charge that can go through obstacles if you angle it right (Warpwolf +Gnarlhorn animus and warping for ghostly if he starts 7 inches from Pureblood). The pureblood can also clear infantry with that spray. An awesome trick is hiding the pureblood behind some terrain and ghosting through to spray. The gnarlhorn is there for the animus as well as hitting power. The gnarlhorn will also make opponents think twice about charging as he has counterslam.

Then you can add in wolfriders for extra pressure and Kromac solves their problem of squishiness and makes them fearless.

Your next purchase should definitely be the Warpwolf Stalker to complete the triad and maybe one more wolfrider.

The shifting stones really arent that important with Kromac as the beasts will be in your opponents faces as early as turn two. If you want fury management you might want to think about the Druid Wilder instead.

At 35 points i had great success with the Warpwolf triad and Kromac, a Gnarlhorn and the stones +ua. I'll probably swap out the stones with some swampgobbers and the wilder in the next tournament as the stones really didnt contribute much.

I just make sure my first model in an activating unit bases counter slammers
or counter chargers with a run or charge. Can't counter if you're engaged, right?

I am learning a lot reading your post, though

@malfred

thanks for reading

I rarely get the Gnarlhorn counterslam to be honest but the mere presence of that threat affects a lot. That model you used to engage the goat is one less model going after my key models. And at armor 18 (20 if with Unviolable Resolve) the Gnarlhorn will have a good chance at getting some payback later. Forcing the opponent to make these choices is key at 35 points or lower.

Imagine this at turn 2:

You're about 13 inches away from your Circle opponent's line. You got a pureblood to the right, a stalker in a forest to the left, a feral down the middle with the Gnarlhorn with open lanes for counterslams guarding the feral and the pureblood. Sitting just behind the feral is Kromac camping 4 fury. Now it might be tempting to slam the feral into kromac for the KD, but then you got the gnarl preventing just that. Engaging the Gnarl will most likely prevent a clean slam lane to the feral. And even if you do KD kromac, will you even be able to capitalize on the slam for an assassination? will you have enough bodies to prevent the two other heavies flanking you? Will you try to cover as many threats as you can and spread out thin? Will you ignore the bait completely and split your forces? concentrate on one side? Turtle up? Either way you're risking opening up an assassination lane or eating a charge with all beasts able to go at 4 fury.

Now I'm not saying this tactic is foolproof nor am i a tactical genius. Several things can shut this down like long range shooting or shenanigans like that Retribution feat that prevents charges. But the basic idea for a kromac list is to offer several threats that your opponent needs to shut down and control the tempo of the game(Warpath!)
