Recently, my friend talked me into building an army and start playing WarHammer with him. I'm not completely new to WarHammer 40K, I have a few games under my belt but it seems like there's still a see of things to learn. I decided to dive in with the Blood Angels and have recently purchased the Battle Force to get started. I tried to put together an army list but I'm not sure that my points are adding up. I saw on some other sites that the points out of the box were pretty low, but with all the options you can easily build a 1000 pt army. However, my list is only going to 700 pts so not sure where I screwed up.

Would anyone mind taking a look over my list and let me know if I'm going wrong some where.

Anyway, if you question is if you can get 1000 pts from the BA Force, then the answer is simply no. There is really just not enough models to make it to 1k, even with all the upgrades in the world. Um, yeah, thunder hammer and power fist, not allowed?

Also, you say they're going to get wiped out, is that because I've configured them wrong or just cause of the models from the battle force. Honestly, I'm not necessarily trying to get to any specific point level and the points I have is throwing every option on. Not sure I need the search light?

If I was playing a 500 Pt army, would you have any suggestions? I really have no idea when it comes to strategy on more combat vs ballistic or what guns are valid for certain scenarios. Ugg.

Do your lists like the following

5 Assault Marines - Sergeant + PF + Combat Shield - 130

10 Man Tactical Squad - Sergeant + PW + MB - 1 Plasma Gun - 200

Etc etc.. Makes it easier to read.

The way your writing it, it looks like your giving your tact squads chain swords and bolt pistols, which they cant take, the Sgt has them as standard though so you dont need to list that
- You cant have a 4 man tact squad, they come as 5 men standard and tactical marines cant have jump packs.
- Sgt's cant have a powerfist and a thunder hammer, just one or ther other, combat shields arnt realy worth taking.
- 9 Space marines cant have a heavy weapon like a Missile Launcher, only 10man squads can.
- your upgrading your rhino far to much, no point giving it all those upgrades, especialy since you only have 1 and it will get focus fired straight away.

I would do a search of the Army Lists subforum, there are quite a few BA lists out there, most of them being either, Mech or JP. With that in mind, think about how/what you want to play, once you figure that out, look for a pre-existing list for ideas. 5 Death company w/ jump packs, 2 power weapons, 1 p.fist

5 ASM w/meltagun, sgt w/pfist

10 tactical marines - plasmagun and missile launcher
rhino

or the pimped out version at 855, mixing the assault marines and death company as a large death company and then using the tactical marines as assault marines on foot:

10 Death company w/ jump packs
8 p.weapins, 1 power fist, 1 thunder hammer, 2 infernus pistols

10 assault marines on foot w/meltagun & plasmagun
sgt w/pwep &inf pistol
