				<description><![CDATA[ ouch..  that's a lot of pain....<br /> but a lot of eggs in one basket, so it balances out.<br /> What army are they for i think 'nid or tau, but you could justify them as mercenaries in pretty much any army.]]></description>

				<title>Just thinking about what predators would be like in 40k</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Yeah,tau most likely, I was thinking about allowing an upgrade to a Predator Prime and Predator Hunter, the prime would get preferred enemy and reroll wounds and the hunter would get 1-4 "hounds" of some sort. dont know what the points would be, just been thinking about it for awhile.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Hmmm s5/t5 and armour 2+ aint right. From the movies we can deduce that they are significantly stronger than a man but not capable of ripping a man limb from limb. They are certainly no tougher or stronger than a space marine. As for the 2+ armour that is a bit silly really i would say just go with a 4+ invulnerable. I think you should look up the old Aegis suit rule for the stealth ability the current one is a bit good. Edit monofilament nets already exist in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> they are ALWAYS <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(6);'>ap</span>-. Str5 is not THAT strong, but Arnie did beat one up.  I cant imagine Arnold Schwarts being any tougher than a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(119);'>SM</span> (unless he actually is the T-800).<br /> I would give them veil or tears ala harliquins(cannot target them unless you are within <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(1);'>2d6</span>*2)  Maybe even make it <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(2);'>3d6</span>?<br /> In addition they should have stealth +2, so even brush or trees would give them a rather nice cover save. <br /> They would also have the hit and run special ability<br /> <br /> In <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> give him a 4++ dodge save<br /> <br /> The rest of the special rules look a little rough to me.]]></description>

Again, from what i've seen, the self-destruct is set by the Predator himself, so should only work if his last wound is removed by a weapon that did not cause him instant death or otherwise remove him from the table as a casualty; if he's killed by instant death or removed from play as a casualty, it represents him being blasted apart; he'd have no time to set the detonator. I'd also make it use the LBT as opposed to <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(1);'>2D6</span>".]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I think a space marine would be able to slap around a predator with relative ease.  In the literature, fairly skilled humans were able to contest and defeat predators in hand-to-hand combat.  They are larger and stronger, but it is not as one sided as many people think.  In one case, in unarmed ritual combat, a human female wiped the floor with her predator opponent and only loss due to cheating by one of the predator’s buddies who tripped her on the sly.  <br /> <br /> I am also pretty sure that a modern age armored vest was able to absorb the shot of a shoulder blaster – sent the guy flying but it didn’t penetrate.  Also all their blades are just really tough and sharp, which probably just puts them on par with the knives, bayonets, and other blades used by the imperium, if not than eldar blades, which count as normal close combat weapons.   When a group of predators goes up against a group of human marines (Alien franchise) the humans are fairly capable at taking out the predators.   I remember one encounter where Arnold’s character’s brother went to Russia and wracked up something like five predator kills.<br /> <br /> Predators do pack together to do things like abducted an alien queens from a hive and there are communities living aboard space vessels, with a first class citizen as the hunters and a second class as the guys who do everything else.   Rule wise I would start with kroots and tweak them a bit.  Plus one toughness, tau stealth suit, maybe fleet.]]></description>

				<title>Just thinking about what predators would be like in 40k</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ I've read alot of the Predator Books and Aliens vs Predator comics/novels and some of this is blending their fluff together. As far as the rules go instead of giving them every weapon that Predators have had in the movies give them options to be able to choose 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>cc</span> weapon or 1 ranged. There are also actual ranks that the Predators go through that can be found through google.<br /> <br /> In the canon the hunting beasts aren't used by the Predators they're used by the Killers who are a differant faction of the same species without the moral code of the Predators. The Predators and the Killers actually do wage wars a large part being because instead of hunting them the Killers have learned how to domesticate the Aliens and use them to kill. The Predators see the using of beasts to hunt as disshonorable and woulden't do it, in fact the "Predators" from the movie Predators are apart of the seperate faction and even look slightly differant to show this.<br /> <br /> Now with what was said about normal humans being able to beat predators keep in mind that arnold only won his fight because he dropped a rock on the Predator and even that didn't actually kill it. And the female character (if I remember right her name is like christina noguchi or something) fought an unblooded predator by using her training that she learned from the Predators after spending years with them and she used her speed versus his strength, she was not an average human. There is also a Native American man (I forget his name) who was apart of the army and was stationed in the South West when a predator attacked and he eventually killed it using the wilderness skills taught to him by his grandfather. That being said Predators see humans as the ultimate prey because they are intelligent and only experienced members are allowed to hunt humans alone. And female predators which haven't been shown in any of the movies are actually bigger and stronger then the males.<br /> <br /> Now predators do use armor but the amount depends on what you consider canon. From the books and movies they wear very little armor (and nothing that generates a force field so I'm not sure where an invulnerable save is coming from), but in the video games there are predators who wear full suits of armor and these predators are specifically labeled as being used during war.<br /> <br /> Just thought I'd clear up some of the things being said and I highly doubt that a Sm would be able to just beat the crap out of a Pred, they'd be pretty close <img src="/s/i/a/c944477abc92c1c101da485e07ff06d8.gif" border="0"> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ Why do people keep assigning them invulnerable saves?  They've never shown any of the kind of things (force fields mostly) that invulnerable saves represent.  Or is it a 4++ in <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> thing like Bromsy's?<br /> <br /> I like Bromsy's for the most part.  Med kit is undercosted (same wargear in the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(69);'>IG</span> book is 30 points).<br /> <br /> Camo field should have it made explicit that stealth does or doesn't stack with the 5+ (I assume it doesn't), or it'd be used for endless rules lawyering by the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(111);'>RAW</span> crowd.<br /> <br /> The base points seem a bit high, especially since there's no weapons in the base points.]]></description>
