EDIT: The only thing Surgical Strike is missing for use by other armies is to give jump infantry a pseudo-Descent of Angels so they can also arrive by turn one and arrive accurately. Unless you're in a rush I find that it's always better to play Battle Missions over the 3 in the rulebook.

This entirely. There's been one or two occasions when I've got spanked good and proper in one or two of those missions. But then going back, playing them again, either with more experience or, perhaps, a list more suited to that scenario rather than my regular Big Book Missions force is good fun.

We tend to just roll one at random, and then often swap round and play the same mission in alternate roles.

Makes a nice change of pace, and some of them are pretty cool for using the special characters in/with.
