				<title>LGS Fantasy Campign Battle Log</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Greetings two weeks ago my local gaming store started a massive fantasy campaign.  We have almost 30 players with a $10 entry fee.  The store bought and assembled 3 Mighty Empire boxes and 1 of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> one.    We have over 100 hexes in all, picking coming as soon as I remember to take my camera to the store with me.  The rules are really complicated and I don't have a good way to post them here or a link.  I'll see about getting a digital copy of the rules online some where and getting a link to anyone who is interested.  The rules are 37 page pdf of which the last 15 pages are army specific rules.<br /> <br /> A quick run down of the general concepts of the Campaign.<br /> <li>Players meet every other Sunday to make there moves.<br />  </li><li>Every meeting we play 5 days in game.  5 days = 1 week, 4 weeks = 1 month<br /> </li><li>Each game day you issue orders for all your roaming forces such as: march, force march, rest, attack, pillage, cast ritual magic (campaign level spells), ect.<br /> </li><li>Each player starts with 2,500 gold which they can spend to buy their start buildings and buy additional points for their roaming army.<br /> </li><li>Each player has 1,000 point roaming force.<br /> </li><li>Army roasters are fixed, at the end of each battle you roll on a chart to determine what portions of your battles causalities are gone forever.  <br /> </li><li>Their are lots of important realm statistics such as: population, income rating, renown, structure points, training rating.  Different buildings add varying amounts to those statistics.  <br /> </li><li>The two most important are population and training rating.  You can spend population to gain recruitment points for your roaming forces.  Your training rating effects what kinds of choices you can recruit (core, hero, special, ect.) and how many points each point of spent population earns.  <br /> </li><li>After the initial start of your force the ONLY way to acquire new magical gear is to go for quests.  So a lot of players are starting out with very kitted out Heroes & Lords because most of the quests can be very difficult to pull off.<br /> </li><li>Lastly if one of your roaming forces becomes in battle it locks them in combat for the reminder of the week.  All battles are resolved on day 5 of that week.  This was done to streamline moves and make the campaign easier to administrate.</li><br /> <br /> I will be posting all my battle reports and I will be trying to get other members of the campaign to also take part with posting there game reports here.  We are expecting the campaign to go for about 6 months.  <br /> .  <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ CAMPIGN WEEK 1<br /> Vampire (1600) vs. Lizards (1300)<br /> <br /> Greetings again.  My first two days movement for Week 1 I moved south towards Sean who plays Lizards.  His base was not far from mine and we have played many games before and I felt it would be a good warm up early in the campaign.  <br /> My aplogies for the pictures not being to scale Paint is a worthless program in the future I will be just taking pictures of the battles with my camera unless anyone has any recomandetion on a better program then paint.<br /> <br /> First off I'm writing up this report 3 days after the battle.  So its not very detailed in the middle of the game, but I clearly remember the beginning and end.  This is my first game in the Campaign I was attacked by a local Lizardsmen force.  We rolled off using our strategy ratings and method of attack and defense from our campaign rules.  He managed to won the roll so had privilege of picking scenario.  He picked standard Battleline scenario.<br /> <br /> My List (Vampire Counts):  1600 points total<br /> <br /> Vampire Lord: helm of command, flayed hauberk, crown of the damned, forbidden lore (death), master of the black arts, summon ghouls<br /> <br /> Wight King: Mount with barding, great weapon, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span>, Drakenhoff Banner.<br /> <br /> Skeleton Warriors: x21, Full Command,  Banner of Hellfire<br /> <br /> Crypt Ghouls: x30<br /> <br /> Grave Guard: x20, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span>, Full Command, Banner of the Barrows<br /> <br /> Varghulf<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> Lizard List: 1300 points total (not sure on exact details of equipment)<br /> <br /> Slann:  maxed out to his point allotment with lots of options.  He takes lore of light for the battle. he also has a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span><br /> <br /> Sourus Warriors: x20 w/ Spears, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(397);'>FC</span><br /> <br /> Sourus Warriors: x20 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(59);'>hw</span> shields, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(397);'>FC</span><br /> <br /> Skinks:  x20 w/ spears, 1 Crocsagore in the unit, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(397);'>FC</span><br /> <br /> Temple guard x20,  w/ magic flaming weapon on champion<br /> <br /> <br /> Turn 1 (Lizards get first turn)<br /> Liz 1 -- He marches up the field on all fronts and using light magic kills 2 grave guard and enchant his temple guard with a spell that gives the unit 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(149);'>WS</span> and 10 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(74);'>Init</span> until his next magic phase.<br /> <br /> Vamp 1 -- I move up a short distance since I want to get the charge.   My first magic phase went very well I death magic sniped his croc to death and got enough dice back to spam cast nehek on the ghouls raising 13 more ghouls to my cause.<br /> <br /> Turn 2 <br /> Liz 2 -- He charges his skinks pull of a good roll on the charge getting them up into the ghouls.  He moves up his sourus warriors into easy charge range for next turn.  His magic phase went as well as it could have.  I dispelled his magical flaming attack spell at the Grave guard.  He then buffed all his units with area buffs giving all his units <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(149);'>WS</span> 10 Int 10 and Always strike first.  Combat between the skinks and Ghouls was a blood bath.  With all the rerolls he was getting with his poisoned attacks between kills and combat res he kills 13 ghouls.  I killed something like 8 or 9 skinks.<br /> <br /> Vamp 2 -- Things start to get interesting this turn.  I charge his temple guard with my grave guard led by the Wight King.  My Vargulf charges across the bridge into his spear sourus warriors.  Magic was uneventful for me as I rolled snake eyes for power dice.  So I cast nehek on the grave guard and rolled a 1 ending my magic phase.  Combat went will my ghouls killed all but 4 skinks I lost about 7 more ghouls.  The temple guard champion challenged and my Wight King accepted. (In hind sight that was really stupid because he had a campaign quest to steal a magical banner and I would have lost it forever in the campaign.)    I got really lucky my king took 2 wounds and I managed to killing blow his champion.  The rest of the combat was huge crazy failure on both sides I killed off only 2 temple guard and he only killed 1 grave guard.  Through res he one by 1 or 2 and I passed my regen saves vs. the crumble.  Vargulf killed 3 sourus warriors while taking no wounds passing the only regen save he had to take, Sourus warriors passed break test.<br /> <br /> Turn 3<br /> Liz 3 -- This turn did not go well for me at all.   He charged his sourus warriors into my Ghouls.  Magic phase he gets all kind of power dice.  I failed my dispel rolls epicly.  He light magic missled 3 skeletons and area buffed again as before.  Combat was disaster on a lot of fronts for me.  My vargulf killed only 2 warriors then proceed to fail ALL 4 of his 4+ regeneration saves at the same time killing the vargulf.  The sourous warriors lay the beat down on my ghouls.  At end of combat units sizes where: a lone skink brave,  17 sourus warriors, and 8 ghouls.  The temple guard managed to kill off another 2 grave guard while I only managed to kill 3 temple guard despite needing 2s to hit and 2s to wound he passed a remarkable amount of parries.  I won combat but he passed break test easily.<br /> <br /> Vamp 3 -- This was also another rather bad turn for me.  I rolled a grand 3 this time for power dice.  With my pitiful 5 dice I hex his temple guard causing him to loss 3 leadership. (in the end my biggest mistake I should have just healed my losses)  W/ my last dice I cast nehek on temple guard recovering 2 wounds I through a wound on the king and brought back a temple guard.  Combat was a failure similar to last turns results for the temple guard and grave guard fight.   The Ghouls got tabled he reformed his sourus warriors facing the flank of the grave guard.<br /> <br /> Turn 4 (((Of all the turns in the game this was the most crucial)))<br /> Liz 4 --  He charged his hand warriors into the flank of my grave guard.  His Skink Brave begins to run away to deny the easy kill (getting behind the combat so I can't see him with my caster.)  His spear warriors march towards my skeletons.  Magic was a huge disaster for him.  His first spell he miscasts and does the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> 10 small blast over his slann killing a huge 8 temple guard.   Leaving him with a Slann and like 3 or 4 temple guard.   Combat goes my way his entire unit of hand weapon warriors attack my Wight King and manage only 1 wound on him.    I wipe out the last of the temple guard and kill 2 or 3 warriors.  I win combat and amazingly with all the break test stuff he gets from being lizards and his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> the warriors break.  <br /> <br /> Vamp 4 -- I reform my skeltons to face the spear warriors.  Magic was funny I sniped the spear warriors champion dead and healed up to full on the skeletons.  In combat he challenged me with his slann my Wight King accepted.  I managed to get past his stupid 5 wounds problem with a killing blow (he failed his 4+ ward vs. it)  I reform facing the broken hand warriors.<br /> <br /> Turn 5 <br /> Liz 5 -- He moves up his spear warriors closer to my skeletons and sudden change of heart marches his skiing brave 12" to the side my skeletons w/lord.  He relies his hand warriors and reforms facing the grave guard again.<br /> <br /> Vamp 5 -- I charge my grave guard into his warriors with just barely getting there, he opts to flee and escapes the charge.  For my magic I sniped out his musician in his spear warriors and recovered a few wound for the grave guard. <br /> <br /> Turn 6 (the really funny turn)<br /> Liz 6 -- He begins to march all his stuff as far from my forces as possible to save his units for campaign purposes with the exception of the skink brave who charges into my skeletons.  My lord of course eats the brave for dinner.  I fail my test to restrain by rolling an 11 and then rolling a ridiculous 9 inches.  Because of the angle it pretty much made my magic phase almost pointless.<br /> <br /> Vamp 6 -- As this was the last turn I just reformed and stayed put and proceed into magic to recover losses so I wouldn't be in that of a position for post battle campaign stuff.  My first cast of nehek was a miscast I rolled snake eyes killing my lord and 6 skeletons.  At end of phase I lost another 3 skeletons to crumble and no grave guard.<br /> <br /> End of Game Summary<br /> Winners Vampire<br /> MVP - Wight King (two challenges ended by killing blows)<br /> Biggest Flop - Vargulf<br /> Most Heroic - lone skink brave who was brave enough to attack a Vampire Lord by himself.<br /> <br /> <br /> We then proceed to roll for Campaign recovery which works as fallows for units.<br /> (+1 on your roll of you win the battle)<br /> round up to the nearest whole model.<br /> roll on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>D6</span><br /> 1 -- no models pass recovery<br /> 2 -- 1 in 5 pass recovery<br /> 3 -- 2 in 5 pass recovery<br /> 4 -- 3 in 5 pass recovery<br /> 5 -- 4 in 5 pass recovery<br /> 6 -- All models pass recovery<br /> <br /> End results for Vampire<br /> I lost at end of battle 1 grave guard, 3 skeletons, and 12 Crypt Ghouls.  My lord suffered no permanent damage on his chart.  Leaving my force at 1465 points remaining<br /> <br /> End results for Lizards<br /> He rolled a 1 on his Hand Weapon warriors so all the models he lost from casualties he lost from his force.  And he lost something like 3 temple guard and 1 or 2 spear warriors his skinks full recovered.  And ironically his Slann on the chart gained hatred (Grave Guard.)  I'm not sure who much he had left standing but I think he said that he lost almost 200 points in the battle.  Mostly from the hand weapon warriors.<br /> <br /> <br /> ]]></description>

But am I correct in understanding I can still snipe a champion since he is more of a true charater with a seperate profile?<br /> <br /> <br /> As for the Campign.  End of week ritual magic was a crazy dispel fest.  Only two ritual magics where successful a lizards and empire player managed to magic up 5d6 a piece. <br /> <br /> My Day 1, Week 2 -- One of the Vampires race traits is that if they rest on battlefield hex the day after one was fought they gain extra renwon which adds to my populotion eventually (yeah for necromancy!)  So I rested and made some zombie lizards.<br /> <br /> My Day 2, Week 2 --  My second race trait is that I can force march without penalty becouse undead always have a moral of zero.  So I traveled 2 hexs towards the closest Battle.<br /> <br /> My Day 3. Week 2 -- Force march again.<br /> <br /> My Day 4, Week 2 -- I dog pile,  attacking a battle that was allready being fought between a Lizards and Warriors of Choas.  Their battle started on Day 1 of the week and I joined the battle on Day 4,  I use the diffrence to see which turn my army can begin rulling for reserves.  For dog pileing we are using the Beastman ambush rules for determing which board edge my enitire force will be entering from.  It should be a good fight for me becouse the other two forces should be weakend by turn 3 when I will begin rolling in my entire heathly force.  The three of scheduled our game for next Sunday so it will be a while before the next real solid up date. <br /> <br /> My Day 5, Week 2 -- engaged in battle.<br /> <br /> <br /> Below pictures of the map:  When I have time I might try to get the map somehow onto battle chronicler so I can better show the moves. There where somewhat good experience charts back in 3rd edittion for campigns.  <br /> <br /> <br /> Sorry for the lack of updates.  I'm sure you all can understand how one wrong battle can ruin your day, well sufficent to say I didnt do so hot in my 3 way battle and was in a tough spot at the end of week 2.  Then week 3 came and I got a little more roughed up, but now I'm alittle more enthused.  I have 3 more battle reports for the last 2 game weeks.  I'll get the next two typed up when I get a chance for now here is my Week 2 Battle.  Keep in mind I'm writing this 3 actual weeks after the battle and are going off of pictures I took so detials are lacking but concepts are still there.<br /> <br /> <u><b>CAMPIGN WEEK 2</b></u><br /> Vampire (1350ish) vs. Warriors of Choas (1500ish) vs.  Lizards (1100ish)<br /> <br /> <b>Vampire List</b>Same as week 1, with just a few smaller squad sizes. I got my grave guard and skeletons with my lord.  I new I didnt have much time to win the game (3 turns in victory points kinda sucks) And alot of ground to cover.  Knowing this before hand I took whole lore of vampires with my lord so I could danse my units an extra 8" a turn.  I got myself 9 power dice and then proceed to roll snake eyes on my first spell of the game leaving my units on the sidelines with nothing to do.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201626-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/25/201626_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Choas - T3<br /> He railled his fleeing Warriors,  and reformed them.  He did great and won the fight on my end of the table, but failed to catch the souras warriors.<br /> <br /> Lizards - T3<br /> The dice gods decide to spite my friend Tom (lizards) and ruin his day and his and mine chances of winning this game in one turn.  He rallied his fleeing souras warriors, he declared charges with everythign he had.  And failed his charge with his souras warriors into the main block of choas warrios by only inches.  His temple guard now grosely outnumberd got crushed.  Then his flank charge with skinks also went disasterously.  Some how none of his crocs manged to get a single kill go figure.  All of the choas warriors manged to get kills on skinks.  I think the wariors had magic war banner for +1 res winning it by exactly 1.  Tom failed his break test and was run down. The opt to flee from all charges and the temple guard got charged by the warriors that finished off the skinks killing them all off.   I felt bad for Tom but then again he was playing almost 500 pts down.<br /> He also did some reforming to get ready for me.  <br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201633-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/25/201633_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Lizards T4<br /> Tom conceeds and uses a campign rules to pull all of his unengaged models off the table so he doesnt have to roll recovery for them.<br /> <br /> Vampire T5<br /> I move my forces up, wishing I hadnt' wasted 6 or so inches moving towards the now vanished Lizards.  My Magic was uneventful I tried to missle the sorcerer to death got dispelled and tried to danse into him and that too was dispelled. And marched his sorcerer out of danger.<br /> <br /> Vampire T6<br /> Finally turn 6 I got the charge which sadly ment I had to wipe out his entire force in two rounds of combat.  I knew it was going to be imposible so i threw my Grave Guard at him and held back with everything else, to avoid having to roll recovery for my skeltons or vargulf.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201636-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/25/201636_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> Combat was epic on my part I laid the smack down with my 14 attacks hitting on 2+ and wounding on 2+ killing ELEVEN warriors while only losing 1 Grave Guard in return.  Then my entire day was spoiled by a single dice roll he pulls off the snakes he needed to not break, leaving me exposed on both flanks for a doubel pincher charge.  If he had failed I would have been able to overrun and get out of their charge arcs.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201638-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/25/201638_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Choas T6 (last turn)<br /> He pulls off the flank charges.  He issues a challenge with his general.  My Wight King accepts and passes his two regenartion saves (go drakenhoff banner) then proceeds to killing blow the champion of the face of the planet.  He made the huge mistake of not taking a ward save for his general.  This made up for the disaster that fallowed.  He proceed to lay into me with massive amount of attacks.  Killing me down to just 9 GG left.  I then laid into him again with my hits and wounds on 2's attacks with what I had left and wasted the now tiny block of warriors.  I lost combat by 2 and failed a regeneration save bringing me down to 8 GG left.  Ending the Game.<br /> <br /> <u><b>Post Game Report</b></u><br /> Choas won gaining 3 renown (2 for playing, 1 for winning) <br /> Vampire lost gaining 2 renown (2 for playing)<br /> Lizards lost gaining 2 renown (2 for playing, 1 for being an underdog, -1 for fleeing entire army from field)<br /> For every 2 renown you gain a point of population at your base.  Populotion gains you extra gold per week or it can be spent to give about 150 pts towards a roaming force.<br /> <br /> <br /> Recovery rolls did not fair the lizards so hot one of his units of sourus warriors got droped under legal unit size so <br /> Choas player got full recovery for his charcter.  Sense he was the winner the chart was very forgiving for him as he got +1 to his rolls for winning.  He got 4 out of 5 warriors back for both blocks of warriors rounded up.<br /> <br /> I only took casulites to my GG and proceed to roll a freaking 2.  Giving me only 1 in 5 of the models that died back.  Now I'm stuck with a unit of 10 Grave Guards that have strike last, which really blows ass.  Furthermore, since me army isn't a legal force becosue my % of points is all out of wack from battle attriation, when I spend populotion I can only spend points on Core choices until my %s get back in balance.  I know wish I hadn't spent 395 points on my lord as I can't replinish my GG until I spend another 3 populotion points, which I can't afford to give up unless I strip away any chance of being able to defend my castle... oggh this battle put me in a bad spot since my GG are the backbone of my list and now they are crippled and cant win a fight.  Honestly if this was a 7 or 8 turn battle I would probably have tabled him, becouse every dice I had would have had next magic phase would have gone into resurectoin of the Guard and he had nothing in his list that could have gone toe to toe with them.  If I had time to heal them after two rounds of combat.  Oh well lesson learned be more careful in future weeks about dogpileing on a battle so late.<br /> <br /> <br /> I'll be posting more reports over my other two battles.  1 of which was a seige at my castle. 				<description><![CDATA[ Here's the siege battle as promised.<br /> <br /> For the campign when being sieged your garrison has points equal to your standing population dimes your garriosn training level.  For me I had a grand 500 points of defense.  In a seige battle the defender usualy has about half as many points as the attacker to balance out the whole walls and such.  So it was a decent matchup.This is the 3rd Lizardsmen player I've had the pleasure of battleling agaisnt in the campign.  <br /> <br /> <br /> <u><b>CAMPIGN WEEK 3</b></u><br /> Vampire Garriosn (500pts) vs Lizards (1350ish)<br /> <br /> My Garrison <br /> Vampire Hero<br /> block of 10 skeltons<br /> And everything else on zombies giving me 68 horde<br /> <br /> Lizards:<br /> Skink priest<br /> Some temple guard w/ a battering ram<br /> some saouras warriors<br /> Enough skinks to have 3 crocs w/ a  log ram<br /> And lastly a Stagdon with the giant crossbow version<br /> <br /> My tactics well as this is a victory point game He has to kill a whole unit to get any points and for me as the defender a draw is about as good as things can go for me so thats the general plan.  Pray he doesnt roll Comet for his priest and hide in the walls tell he breaks down the door and pray he doesnt have time to eat through over a hundered zombies.  That was the plan that failed me. <br /> <br /> Deploment was fairly straight forward in a siege seceniro instead of taking turns deploying the defender set up the terrian and then depoys his whole force.  Then the attacker can deploy all his stuff but not within 18" of a wall or tower.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201783-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/26/201783_sm-.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> I got first turn <br /> <br /> Vampire T1<br /> Sticking to the plan all my dice well go into nehek for pretty much the whole battle.  With my 5 power dice I got myself a wicked 12 more zombies.  The skink priest did not do well on getting his dispels through.  Great first turn.<br /> <br /> Lizards T1<br /> He basically marched everything so he could get with-in bashing range. with his rams for turn 2.  Unfortuanly for him he rolled two spells for his priest that need line of sight to be any good (thunderbolt and the curse of midnight wind.)<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201784-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/26/201784_sm-.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Vampire T2<br /> Disaster stikes and plan falls apart, I roll a miscast on my first nehek with 9 dice in my pool.  I was only rolling 2 dice per casting and was going to be so safe .. I was wrong.  I got the minnium of 5 more zombies.  Then proceed to roll a 11 on the chart draining me of my spell and more importantly my only caster level taking my vampire pretty much out of the game.  Without the endless supply of 1d6+4 zombies per casting things where looking pretty grim.<br /> <br /> Lizards T2<br /> He pulls off both charges wihtout a hitch and then began to beat on my tower and gate in each combat phase for a while.<br /> The 6th ed siege rules are alittle funky for those who dont remember.  You roll <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>d6</span> + the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>Str</span> of the siege item general 8 or more then consult a chart.  For the gate it starts at 11 and goes up and for towers and walls it starts at 13.  Each succesful hit puts a crack in it giving you +1 on the chart with all future rolls.  To break a gate I think you need to get to 15 or 16 and for a wall/tower you need to hit it for something like 18 to 20 to bring it down cant remeber becouse we didnt get that far.  Their are other effects like on towers if your inside you can't shoot of arrow slits if the tower gets shaken. ect.<br /> The Temple guard manged a small crack in the Gate.  The skinks biff.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201785-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/26/201785_sm-.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Vampire T3<br /> I sit there bored out of my mind for several turns<br /> new crack in the tower from the skinks and the temple guard fail to damage the gate.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/201786-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/3/26/201786_sm-.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Lizards T3<br /> He begins to repostion for when the gate is broken in.<br /> And beats on the gates somemore<br /> <br /> Vampire T4<br /> More bordom<br /> <br /> Lizards T4<br /> He sat there and kept beating.  At bottem of 4 he was getting +4 on gate and +3 on tower.<br /> <br /> Vampire T5<br /> He broke in the gate, it wasnt covered in the rules but we diceded to allow a free reform after a battering ram crushed a gate (simmiler to winning a fight) to allow them push the ram out of the way so thay can then enter the gate.  He plays wierd (by the way this is his 3rd or 4th game of fantasy) and reforms his temple guard facing the tower to go see if he can bring it down turn 6.  My zombies let out a big sigh of relief they dodge a bullet on that one.<br /> <br /> Lizards T5<br /> he doesnt quite get there with the temple guard but will get there next turn (thank god for the -1 movement from the ram.)  He also move up the stagdon to where the guard where so he can charge through the now open gate. Then combat res killed a rotting ton more.  As for the rams the came within 3 of bringing it down. In garrison battles after all recovery roles the defender losses populotion for every garriosn training level worth of stuff lost in the battle.  Overall we where both happy with the battle, we both got renown to expand our populotion and he got some experince for his characters and units.  All I'm out is the 25 gold Ill have to spend at the end of the week to fix my gate.  Which isnt that bad becosue I make around 50 a week so not the end of the world, which will get made up by quickly by the populotion point this battle provided me.<br /> <br /> Carl Todd]]></description>

				<title>Week 4, the plot thickens</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Week 4 - Campign movments well things are starting to get really interesting.  We are at the point where people are starting to make friends and are forming into alliances for safety.  There are 4 alliances on the map at the start of week 4.  <br /> <br /> On the west side of the map there is my alliance.  Myeslf (vampire), Tharp (dwarves), and Morrison (Lizards <i>from my first game</i>)<br /> On the far East side of there are 2 alliances.  Beastman and Orcs.  And a three player Empire, Empire, and Brittonian alliance.<br /> Then lastly the now dubbed "MEGA" Alliance stretching across almost he entire northern edge of the map.  6 Players: Skaven, Demons, Vampire, Dark Elves, another Skaven, and another Demon.  They are fairly well orginized on their plans of attacks becouse 3 of the players are long time warhammer veterns.  The other 3 players got into fantasy specifically becosue of this campign and are very new.  Those 3 newbies are also longtime standing <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> players.  <br /> <br /> As for my plans groups for week 4.  We decided to attack an Orcs and Goblins player that Morrison and Tharp had battles with on week 2 and week 3.  They both had lost their battles against him.  So we made a plan to do triple team his castle.  With dwarve cannons and lizards and vampires for <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(19);'>CC</span> it sounded like a good plan.  With all prelaid battle plans they never seam to last.  We ended up having Tharp and Morrison attacks his garrison while I hit his roaming force to keep him from late arriving at the battle at his garrison.  We met on the field of battle day week4-day2 (report will be in next post.)<br /> <br /> Mega Alliance proceeded to divide up and send two armies east (skaven and dark elves) and lunched the remaining 4 armies at Jared the Lizard player that attacked my garriosn on week 3.  He just had the worst luck of being the only good race within quick northern reach of the Mega-alliance.  Lucky for him he managed to attack the skaven player before he had a chance to join in on the attack on his garrison.  It will be interesting to see if his 625 point garriosn can repeal over 4000 points of stuff.  Which he are starting to think he just might becouse since its his home and capital he can declare terrian as he sees fit and wants to declare everything outside the walls to be a marsh (dangorous terrain) except for a narrow 5 files wide path up to the gate.  That and at the start of the week he got a ritual magic spell off that lets him pick an ADDITONAL spell of his choice for a caster in one battle for the week.  So he plans to rain down comets right in front of anything with ladders or a ram.  And most importanly in this type of siege battles draws go to the defender (based off victory points)  If he can manage to keep things off his walls with stuff like wind blast, comet, ect.  And kill a unit or two his odds of gettign a victory go up like crazy.  Anyways hopefully I'll get the chance to wright a report up for that battle as well.<br /> The mega Alliance's east group goes into 2v2 battle with the Beasts & Orcs alliance.<br /> <br /> Anyways thats that for now.]]></description>

				<title>Week 4: Vampire Vs. Orcs</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Well time to write up my report from my game against Thomas (orcs).  Game was a good one.<br /> <br /> Unfortunately through my losses over the first few weeks I was backed into a corner and needed to restructure my army.  Due to some campaign rules issues I had to disband my core and specials and recreate them, causing me to loss all my acquired unit experience for my Grave Guard, Skeletons, and Ghouls.  Overall it was totally worth it because I was able to a massive redo on infantry swapped some things around.  My character line up was same as before, except I picked up a necromancer.<br /> <br /> WEEK 4: Vampire 1500ish vs. Orcs 1300ish<br /> <br /> <u>ME</u><br /> Vampire Lord: same as before (picked lore of fire with forbidden lore for this battle)<br /> Wight King: same as before<br /> Necromancer: w/ danse macbre as spell<br /> 30 zombies w/ banner<br /> 15 skeltons NO COMMAND (I couldn't get the populotion and recruitment points to work for it)<br /> 20 ghouls<br /> 20 Grave Guard w/ <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(50);'>GW</span>, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(397);'>FC</span> <br /> <br /> <u>ORCS</u><br /> Boss on bore with the crazy expensive orc axe of doom the one that adds to attacks and stregth<br /> Another orc on boar with <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span><br /> 2 night goblin casters.  1 and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 2.  The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 1 has magic murshrooms<br />         Spells rolled where kinda lame.  Both casters got the unit gains poison, and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 2 got the flankers get bonus to hit and wound spell.<br /> Block of Goblin archers<br /> Block of goblins<br /> Block of goblins<br /> Block of nightgoblins with 2 fantaics and nets<br /> 2 regular trolls<br /> and a small block of black orcs as his heavy hitting hammer<br /> <br /> We kept terrain really simple and started deployment this is the result.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204751-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204751_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> He put his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 1 caster with the archers, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 2 caster with the night goblins, and both bore orcs in with the orcs.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204752-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204752_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> Both casters in with the skeltons.  My Vargulf was in held in reserve due to make up points addvantege.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204753-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204753_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> Both sides.  basic woods on the right and left side of the 4x4 battlefield.<br /> <br /> I won the roll for turn 1.<br /> <br /> Vampire - T1<br /> In short I moved forward with everything.  Unfortunitly my ghouls could only move 4" becouse they where not within range of my vampire.  I mad the mistake of moving him first instead of the ghouls.  In the long run this turned out for the better.  In magic I rolled something like 6 or 7 dice and got a channel off.  I started by flame cageing and then fireballing a unit of goblins doing little damage droping only 6.  I also got myself another 4 ghouls above start value with nehek.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204754-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204754_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <br /> Orcs - T1<br /> He doesn't declare charges and passes his stupidty checks on the trolls using the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> and generals leadership ith no prolem.  He marches up with a good number of his stuff. He elected not to move the flamecaged Goblins.  Also I'm not entirely sure why he moved his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> out of his unit of orcs to be on foot on his own.<br />  <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204756-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204756_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> Veiw of field after movment.<br /> <br /> He has an epic bad magic phase and kill his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 1 caster through miscast and mushrooms not sure how it went down I just knew he got baked and toasted.  He then proceeds to miscast with his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(347);'>lvl</span> 2 caster and rolls a 4 on the table.  His head exploads and large blasts  his unit like crazy killing mroe goblins in his magic phase then I did to him in mine.   His caster manges to survive, but he and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span> take wounds.<br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204758-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204758_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204759-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204759_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> The single boar is his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span>.  Dead goblins for my necormaner who is now going to busy after battle.<br /> <br /> Vampire - T2<br /> I totally soaced and forgot to take picutres of most my and his turn 2 it played really fast.<br /> Stuff gets real crazy and clustered really quick as I declare charges.  I charge his troll with my zombies and lunch my GG into his orcs.  The nightgoblins fantics run at me and he rolls well for them.  I only lost 2 GG I passed regen saves like a pro.<br /> Magic phase I did some crazy shenigans.  I Cast Fire Cloak on my zombies. Causing all kinds of pain on his troll every magic phase.  As well as Flame Cage on the unit of regualar goblins on the fire right flank.  And got myself an extra 5 or 6 zombies.  Flame Cloak fails and does only 1 wound to the troll.  He manged to dispel Danse for the GG so I would have hit before his orcs.  I proceed to loss that combat by only 1 due to ranks and banner and are still above start value on zombies.  As for the important fight.  I lay the beat down on his orc unit.  He challenges with his general, Knowing how crazy his general is I take the challenge with my unit champion, who proceeeds to get pulped and dies horribly overkilled by 2.  I then lay the beat down on his orcs.  Once again 125 point regen banner saves the day.  I pass 4 of 7 saves.  With my 13 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>str</span> 6 attacks I sit down enough orcs for me to win combat by something like 7.  He didnt get the snakes to stay.  I chassed him down killing the orcs and overruning into the goblins that flamecaged on turn 1.  This was distinctly the momment where victory was almost guartanteed.  <br /> <br /> Orcs - T2<br /> He charged what was left of his night goblins iadn his <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>BSB</span> nto my zombie's flank.  He didnt move flamecaged goblins again.  His arches had nothing to shoot at.  He strangely didnt charge his troll into anything but tried to play bold and moved his troll into a threating spot on my skeltons and general.  Magic phase he got poison attacks and the flank buff spell on my zombies.  He missed his chance to dispell my fire cloak and I killed off a bunch of goblins before they had a chance to even swing into my zombies.  Combat went in my favor.  Zombies ate enough goblins to drop them to 4 so I kept my rank bonus.  Zombies lost by only 2 or 3 oh darn.  GG ate bunch of goblins and pursed them.  It was epic he rolled snake eyes for the flee distance I rolled a total of 3.  <br /> <a href="http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/204760-.html" target="_new" rel="nofollow"><img src="http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2011/4/2/204760_sm-.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /> For some reason I'm having trouble uploading my picure of start of turn 3 to the gallery.  <b>Its at the bottom of the post.</b><br /> <br /> Vampire - T3<br /> I stoped taking picture of the battle at this point, sorry.<br /> Well things went crazy.  I declared a charge of ghouls into the right goblins.  I rolled a 9 or so getting there.  I then marched my skeltons in somewhat large arc placing them slightly infront of where the ghouls where outside of the charge arc from the troll.  I reformed my GG becosue the goblin archers where slightly outside my charge arc.  <br /> In magic phase I cast flame sword on my zombies (very fire covered zombies).  He dispelled danse macrbe for the Ghouls.  Fire cloak killed off the&nbsp;BSB <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(1);'>2d6</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>str</span> 4 hits into one character can do that.  <br /> Fire zombies won decently well.  Both enemy units broke then proceeded to die terriblely to the zombies special pursue rule.  This is the first time I have every had my zombies actually do something awesome without making them <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>str</span> 10 with lore of shadows.  My Ghousl won there fight becouse they where just goblins afterall.  I got brought down to exactly my start value of ghouls.<br /> <br /> Orcs - T3<br /> He conceeded.  Removing his troll and goblin archers from the table.<br /> <br /> Recovery:<br /> Recovery went epic for me I got full recovery on all my stuff.  Flawless victory for me.<br /> He didn't do so hot.  His general is now a gimp (-1 movement)  which is funny becosue he's on bore inside a slower unit anyways.  Overall just guessing he lost permantly around 200-250 pts worth of stuff.<br /> <br /> Summary:<br /> I gained 4 renown (+2 playing, +1 win, +1 capture <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(174);'>bsb</span>)<br /> Orcs gained 2 renown (+2 playing)<br /> I gained allkinds of xp both my general and wight kings lvled up on their xp charts. <br /> This was by far the best for me battle so far.  With the large scale shenigans happening with 5 hexes of my home with the mega alliance I need all the popuotion and xp for my charaters I can get.<br /> <br /> <br /> I have been watching and taking pictures of battles that I haven't been playing in and will be posting abrievted battle reports on some of those battles when I can.<br /> <br /> Carl Todd]]></description>
