You won't find anything significantly cheaper in price - especially one that would look nearly as cool as the Carnosaur.

GW does sell the Carnosaur by itself for $35, but if the shop you're shopping at has a decent discount you might as well just get the regular version.
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1110242&rootCatGameStyle=

Carnosaur Substitute

In Australia that Carnosaur is $55 by itself ($30 more for the box with a lord) so I can see the reason why this thread would exist.

Probably see if you can find a decent toy dinosaur to replace it. The alternative might involve converting and bulking up Cold Ones and it's not really worth the effort.

Alternatively you could buy the lord on Carnosaur box from a discount store or something. I'd say Maelstrom, but they don't appear to have much Lizardmen stuff around. I guess you could try ebay.

As for ordering one from a store online try to go UK. Depending on shipping, if you get it from the US it will cost the same as buying it here, yet take an extra week or two to actually arrive.

This is of course assuming it isn't just that you dislike the model.

Yea its a cost issue. Might try and order from overseas I do like the model. Other reasons is the pose is hard to change being a metal model. Using a good dinosaur model might work would need some gs but and my skills in that area are newbie at best.

Tamiya once did a "Prehistoric Creatures" range that included various dinosaurs and other Cretacious critters.. I bought a pack of Velociraptors from their range, and was baffled by the sheer amount of details on them, and, to make it even more lovely; their models were completely plastic..

Here's a link to Tamiya's "Old School" prehistoric creatures, if you fancy them; http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/list/35dinosaur/kit60201.htm

and here is a link to Tamiya's Dinosaur diorama series; http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/list/35dinosaur_world/kit60101.htm

Where is that from? It would be great for a Saurus Hero on Horned One.

As for a toy dino not being good enough for GW, you just need to put some Lizardman bits on it. The boxes come with tons of the things. Just put some of the little icons for standards on a strip of green stuff like barding.

I do think it will vary depending on the tournament organisers.
