				<description><![CDATA[ Hi all, <br /> <br /> Startings someting new with my Angels, now that I've got my Descent of Angels list all figured out, I'm trying to form my other models into a separate list. 				<description><![CDATA[ I'd ditch a land raider.  Your <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squad isn't going to be able to fire the missile launcher really ever, so there's almost no point in giving it to them.  Also I'd give the 5 man assault squads a razorback if you want to keep them small.  <br /> <br /> Even though they're an "up in your face" type army, you'll need a little bit of supporting fire from behind.]]></description>

I figured I could use the Raider to drop the Tacs somewhere and then go off on its own, but that's taking it way from whatever its intended target for an unrelated transport purpose. A better list, I think, is this.<br /> <br /> Librarian w. Running them close together in a refused flank, I can get the Shield to cover them both and have the Tacs, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>Devs</span>, and the other priest sit back on an objective and support fire.<br /> <br /> Thoughts? I tried to make it less of a mechanized list and more of a 'mech with support' list. The Rhinos just died too easily by comparisson with the Raiders.<br /> <br /> Tim_ff8]]></description>

If you want duel raider having assault squads with Priests and Libbies coming out is good or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span> or Assault Terminators (with Priest and Libby).<br /> <br /> Support that with either razorbacks (las-<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(166);'>plas</span> or assault cannon) and/or Preds (hybrids and asscann Baals). 				<description><![CDATA[ I just dont see a real use for 2 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> in this list.  Its nice to have one for the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span>, but it will take them forever to get to their destination.  I also agree about possibly exchanging the rhinos for razorbacks for the assault sqds.  ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ My argument for Tactical Marines her is the following(admittedly for a long time I though that my Tacs would be useless in this Dex):<br /> <br /> Although I love Assault marines, they can't hold an objective. Really, they can't. Even when getting <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(265);'>FNP</span>(and they should always) they'll generally be at less than a 10-man squad, giving up guys to fit in a Razor or fit a character with them. Tacticals can lay down 24" fire so squads can't just stay out of combat to avoid them. An Assualt squad can't sit in cover and hold something. Tacticals can. Put a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(29);'>Dev</span>. squad with them and a priest and they can throw a lot of ranged power and take a lot of hits. Advancing into fire and engaging the enemy, no doubt Assault marines are better. But I have Tacticals, I want to use them in a list, so here it is. I have a 2K <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(493);'>DoA</span> list with only Asasult Marines as Troops, so I want to run something else here.<br /> <br /> The single <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(80);'>LC</span> with the signum is a good idea. I''ll get on that.<br /> <br /> I actually don't have enough Preds to run a list with a ton of smaller vehicles, so I'm trying a different kind of list. I do realize that a Meltagun is probably better but actually I'm all out of meltas(<span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(493);'>DoA</span> list required a ton, and I run Vostroyans, who don't have any models of their own for them so eat some of my marines' guns).<br /> <br /> ]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ So here's the thing: If you want Assault Marines holding an objective, do 10 men in a rhino with dual plasma guns. Everything you just said about tacticals is done by this squad. Rhinos have  fire points, for the 24" plasma fire, the rhino makes them more survivable, and if they are on foot, they have an 24" range to the tactical's 24" (move 12" shoot pistols 12"), admittedly with half the firepower.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ While I could run Assault marines like that, I don't even run my Tacs like that because I would essentially be spending 50 points to do nothing with that Rhino. It's a lot cheaper with the Assault Marines, but a Tactical Squad could take a Plasma and a heavy weapon, and then there are a bunch of bolters as well to chew down enemy infantry. By putting them in a Rhino, though, it prevents be from parking a priest with them, as it would necessitate a second squad and vehicle, which would itself be below ten marines and thus be far less useful. Bear in mind that this squad does not need to be mobile; this is one to hold a home objective and lay out some firepower; assault marines and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(349);'>DC</span> can play agressively to compliment.]]></description>

I think people over emphasize the "assault" nature of the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> codex, <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(167);'>tac</span> squads are very useful when used correctly.<br /> <br /> To the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(280);'>OP</span>, sadly I just dont think <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> can do <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> lists as well as vanilla marines can, our support options are just too expensive, if you run a single <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span>, like a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(261);'>LRC</span> or <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(475);'>LRR</span> you might be able to pack enough support in to get that <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>LR</span> to the enemy lines, but that can be a very tricky game to play.<br /> <br /> Ashton]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ For support fire I really like Baal preds they pack a punch and are usually ignored because "they don't have very big cannons" but they shred anything that isn't in armor and if need be the assault cannons are rending wrecked me a Russ like that <img src="/s/i/a/c944477abc92c1c101da485e07ff06d8.gif" border="0"> and a vindi drops a few shots and the baals take care of close fire support. Anti tank is 6 melta guns and 3 power fists at <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(123);'>str</span> 9 on the charge bye bye <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(87);'>lr</span>. ]]></description>
