What do you do about extra glue in the bottom of your Sabol Trays?

Morning fellow dakka persons.
This weekend I purchased 2 new Sabol Army Transport trays from my LFGS. I have been in the gaming world for about 15 years. Ran into an issue I haven't seen before. So I pluck out the Army transport trays for my Warmachine Khador jacks, which anyone who plays Khador knows, they ridiculously heavy.

Went to play yesterday and notice, every F'ing jack is basically glued to the bottom of the try. So most of my sunday was spend trying to remove jacks from the stupid tray
Now I've seen it before excessive amounts of glue used, but seriously. EVERY jacks broke off its base in trying to pry them out. This stopped me from going to a Steamroller at my favorite Showcase comis, Sorry Mike

Now what do you do about the excess glue? I chalk it up to a Sabol trying to make the trays more stable. There's no way could have been spotted ahead of time. And I fixed my little Jackies up pretty. Part of the problem is the scenic basing means they have not fixed into the slots, and are on rocks. But I need them to slide in and out all nice. I worked yesterday with q-tips and dish soap and got some of it out of the tray, but any ideas?? I'm half debating lining the bottom of the tray with paper towels??

What do you do about extra glue in the bottom of your Sabol Trays?

I had a problem with my sabol foam trays years ago, too. During the summer, the glue would soften and then models would stick to the bottom of the tray. This would pull off paint, arms, guns, etc. My solution was pretty simple:

I cut out rectangles (or whatever shape required for the slot) of aluminum foil and glued it to the bottom with elmer's wood glue. It's been about 8 years now and been no problems yet. Not one.

King Ghidorah
