I got a little too crisp with some of the highlights in some parts, but thats cool I am not going to stress over it.











Also, here is the idea I am thinking on for the paint scheme for my GK's, I wanted kind of a "antique" look. Once everything is dry I will start bringing the white back out, I was thinking for the "glowing effects, ie eyes, weapon, and cannon, to use green instead of blue? Still not sure.

The white on the GK is a little sloppy, I have since cleaned it up quite a bit, I had to use quite a few washes to get it to the right texture and look I was looking for, as soon as I have it finished I will get some pics up!

Btw, what colors do you use for the exposed face? @Shas'o I use a pretty non-traditional way to paint my faces, I dont recall where I picked up this technique but it always seem to work. First I base coat the face w/ a dark green, usually I use Vallejo "US Tank Green", a thing coat gets applied with my airbrush. Then I mix a fairly thin coat of "Basic Skin Tone" a very pale pink-ish skin color. Then holding the head on the end of a tooth pick, and angling it in such a way so that I am spraying down ward, like a birds eye view, I slowly start building up the flesh tones until I get a shading I like. That is followed up w/ some Ogryn and Griffon Sepia washes to help further define the shadows. Lastly I pick out the eye details and using varous ratios of white and skin tone, pick out the highlights on the face, again sounds complicated but faces I can get down extremely fast, just a few minutes really.

As far as the hammer goes...I have never been a fan of the "energy" look on Thunder hammers, just doesn't seem right, but these guys are a whip and I still have some work to do on the hammers, so we will see how it turns out.

@Slugga I am assuming you mean the white on the Grey Knight? Basically I started out w/ a Testors spray paint called "Modern Desert Sand" A very pale and light sandy tan color. After this dried I airbrushed a very thin coat of Vallejo "Arena Sand" this was sprayed from a "birds eye" view to only get the highlights. The last color sprayed on was white, again sprayed from a "birds eye" view. The result was still more of a yellow looking white rather than a "antique" or bone looking white which was what I was trying to achieve. So I went to work w/ some sepia washes to get it to the point it is at now, using straight white to get the edges of the model and pick out all the highlights. Applying that many sepia washes was rather time consuiming, I think I might try "dipping" in the future to speed up the process....
