Modeling Deathwatch - Need advice.

So I want to build a Deathwatch Kill Team, the chapters I am planning are: Raven Guard, Iron Hands, Space Wolves, Red Scorpions, Black Templars, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Ultramarines, Salamanders, and White Scars. I am wondering how many pieces per figure of a specific kit would be too many? If I make a Space Wolf using all SWs parts except the DW shoulder pad and use the same idea for the the rest of the squad, will it look strange to have all the marines look so different? Will the color scheme tie them all together well enough? Feel free to post any pics you have for examples of what I am talking about.

Since when was the Deathwatch scheme reversed? I seem to remember them wearing black armor with their chapter insignia on the right shoulder pad. This image agrees.

Yeah that is the scheme I would be painting them, what I am asking is, if for a SW in the Deathwatch would look funny to use all parts from the Space Wolves Pack kit with the DW shoulder pad and also for a Blood Angel to use all parts from the Blood Angels kit with the DW pad would they look to contrasting or do you think the DW paint scheme (as above) will tie them together enough so they do not look TOO miss matched.

Lexicanum wrote:The warriors who fight are given the honour of painting their armour black (to show their service to the Emperor), while leaving one shoulder pad with the original insignia of the Chapter from which the marine came. Although the armour is painted black, it is never all painted black as this action would dishonour the armour's Machine Spirit. They also are equipped with a new shoulder pad with the symbol of Deathwatch onto their other side.

You could easily interpret this as evidence that the inducted marines swap their squad shoulder pad for a Deathwatch one, but otherwise retain their original power armor. Blood Angel droplet gems, for example, would remain, as normal, with the armor simply painted black instead of red. Space Wolves I'm less sure about, as they tend to have pretty standard power armor draped in wolf pelts. Any engraved runes could be left, but I think a SW head and pad will convey their origin without resorting to a theme-killing fuzzy cloak.

For those who are interested this is printed in the Deathwatch RPG book:

"Even though a Battle-Brother paints most of his armor black to symbolise his new role in the Deathwatch, he does not leave all the accoutrements of his home Chapter behind any more than he leaves his loyalty, training, or beliefs. Most Chapters have characteristic adornments that they wear into battle aside from Chapter heraldry, and it is quite common to find Battle-Brothers serving in the Deathwatch continuing to wear at least one token of that history at all times."

Then there are options and rules for "Company Trappings." Here are the options:
Devotion Chains (BT)
Tabard (BT)
Blood Drop Pendant (BA)
Golden Icons (BA)
Ceremonial Sword (DA)
Robe (DA)
Wolf Pelt (SW)
Runic Totem (SW)
Sacris Claymore (StW)
Tempest Amulet (StW)
Cingulum (UM)
Heraldry Scroll (UM)
