				<description><![CDATA[ Hey everybody my name is Yuri Devilbiss. 				<description><![CDATA[ Gainesville is centralized for Northern Florida players, but not for people traveling by plane.  Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville all have a lot of flights and are equally distant to G'ville though/<br /> <br /> I think that Orlando would be a lot better of a destination though.  Free shuttles if you pick the right airport to host the event, and lots of activities near bye if you bring the family.]]></description>

No large <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> event in Florida has gone off really well yet though because it isn't possible to find enough competent <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> players to run it and judge it since they would rather play. I appreciate what the guys at the Necro did by including a <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> tournament but they never had good missions or judging staff because they were Fantasy people.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ I agree with mjil7atlas, there is a growing <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> community in our area, which happens to be exactly 2 hours from Gainsville, Orlando, Tampa... out of the many different events and tourneys some of us have attended across FL, Bolter Beach was by far the most enjoyable.<br /> <br /> Yuri is a great guy and excellent <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(421);'>TO</span> and the missions are a blast; which is good for FL because there seems to be a pretty bad amount of Power gamers/bogus tourneys that just seem thrown together to collect your registration fee and awarded to the usual suspects.]]></description>

I was planning on going to the last one when it was scheduled for the week prior.  They moved it to the weekend of my wife's birthday.  Wife &gt; <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40K</span>.  <br /> <br /> @Shinkaze - I'm decent in tournaments, but I'd actually prefer to help run a large event.  <br /> <br /> There have been large conventions in G'ville before.  Plenty of hotels and conference centers, and not to mention the UF campus and buildings.  Eventually I'll host one up here.  Now to find out where would be the best.  We only have one game store and not enough tables & terrain for 64 people (I'm thinking 6 rounds), which means all the other clubs will have to bring tables and terrain.]]></description>

The <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> community in Florida is a lot more sparse than in other parts of the country (I blame the weather), and nothing's really close.   I lived in Gainesville for years, and the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(3);'>40k</span> community there always faded in and out.  <br /> <br /> I'm looking forward to it again this summer! The location is actually a pretty easy 1 hour drive from the Tampa airport too for those of you considering flying in.]]></description>

Roll each subsequent game turn if a number is rolled that has already been removed no objective is removed<br />  <br /> Deployment Pitched Battle<br />  <br /> Primary - Objectives<br />  <br /> Secondary - Reverse Kill points you get one point for each unit you have alive at end of game.<br />  <br /> Tertiary - Kill more scoring units<br />  <br />  <br />  <br />  <br /> Mission 3<br /> Deployment Spearhead<br />  <br /> Place one objective in center of table and one in the middle of each unoccupied table quarter.<br /> Units fully within 6 inches of objectives can not be seen unless you are within 12 inches of the unit. 				<description><![CDATA[ Mission 1   Reverse <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(324);'>DoW</span>:  Dawn of War stops the alphastrike lists due to only having 3 units on the board.  This will not stop the alphastrike lists, only slightly hinder them due to the night fighting.  Alphastrike lists usually have either night vision or searchlights.<br /> <br /> Primary - I prefer a spread of 3+ kill points or victory points<br /> Tertiary – biased toward armies.  Some have only 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>, others will have 2 – 3.  Why not just have them pick 3 selected units.  Redundant as the primary is kill points.  Why not have an objective capturing here instead.<br /> <br /> Mission 2:  I like the disappearing objectives<br /> Secondary – This really favors <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(308);'>MSU</span>.  Maybe instead have the most Victory Points alive... which means you also killed the most victory points.<br /> Tertiary – Biased towards armies, better to have selectable kill points and place them on scoring units first.  <br /> <br /> Mission 3:  favors assault scoring units.<br /> Primary – better to have modified <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(316);'>KP</span> of 1 per 100 points per unit.  Troops round down.  All are mimimum 1 <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(316);'>KP</span>.<br /> Tertiary – my army actually only has troops and <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>HQ</span>.  Besides, this is repeat of <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(316);'>KP</span> already in the primary.<br /> <br /> Mission 4: <br /> I’m not sure I like the random point values for the objectives.<br /> <br /> Overall - biased.  You keep using kill points or kill points on <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(56);'>hq</span> or troops.  Every army has these different.  Try using something that everyone has the same number of.]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ All right, so I played mission 1 yesterday.<br /> <br /> First things first, my <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(412);'>DW</span> got destroyed by <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(305);'>GK</span>. It didnt help that I some how rolled at about 40% in shooting and less in assault but oh well.....<br /> <br /> The real deal, mission review.<br /> <br /> First up is reverse <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(324);'>DOW</span>. Does this also mean the turn one is normal and turn 2 - end is night fight?<br /> <br /> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(72);'>IMO</span> it would be fitting as all my heavy squads were able to deploy and ready to shoot in turn one before the sun whent down, For example.<br /> That might be an interesting thing to add, if not you might want to state that its works as normal.<br /> <br /> Gravity rolls, while I like the idea of this kind of thing we had one major problem. We rolled for it on turn one, got high gravity, then on turn two, normal. After that we got into the game and forgot untill the bottom of five.<br /> <br /> Like I said I like these kind of changing mission rules at home cuz its fun and if we forget, no big deal. But if playing in a tournament and , for example, loosing the game because of lets say the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(10);'>BA</span> <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(493);'>DOA</span> guy im fighting getting an extra <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(24);'>D6</span> move on two rounds and destroying me could happen. Then I go out side and talk to my buddy and he goes "OH crap! we forgot to even roll that, and my opponet never even got to me!"<br /> <br /> This kind of inconsistant thing could have a negitive effect on peoples outlook. If you have a way to ensure that all games continue to roll for the random mission changes its one thing, if not...im not sure.<br /> <br /> The unfortunite thing is that I could see the same thing going down in mission two. One table next to me with 6 objectives at the end of the game while the ones I was on vaporized. just because they forgot to roll for them. <br /> <br /> Im not saying I dont like the idea, im just saying its hard to make all the games equal when its up to players in the heat of war remember things like this that could change the result of the game.<br /> <br /> That said, we still had a fun game and this is just food for thought.]]></description>

We use Win - by - 3 to keep the balance implications of Kill Points in-tact, but to reduce the "every table is playing a different mission" issue of vastly different kill point differentials from table to table.<br /> <br /> Just to address ryan/black.<br /> <br /> <br /> Also, the last Bolter Beach credited the <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(755);'>NOVA</span> along with WargamesCon for the influence on mission design, but observationally it was not all that <span class="glossaryitem" onmouseover='gp(755);'>NOVA</span>-inspired (though we appreciated the credit!).
