Help making ork snowmobile diorama

Hey guys, 'm going to be making a diorama of three orks on snowmobiles (will hopefuly be able to take to golden demon), I know what I'm doing with the orks but I want a section of a steep hill for them to be going down as the mountain. I was just wondering should I use that pink foam or polystyrene or what as I'm new to dioramas. Also, where should I get it? I'm looking for a block approximately 6" x 7/8" x8/9". Thanks. Once I've assembled all three snowmobiles, I will start a P&M blog, I will post a link here.

P.S I haven't checked much myself yet but does anyone know of any cheap evergreen (desiduous) trees at the right scale for 40k or does anyone have any I can buy once my ebay accounts up and running.

The pink/blue insulation foam is pretty easy to work with, especially if you've got a hot wire cutter (I don't, but I manage just fine). It comes in a few thicknesses, but you can always stack layers to get your desired height. Not sure about the UK, but here, it's available at any of the numerous big box home improvement stores. If all else fails, plain old styrofoam can work, in a pinch, as long as you coat it well (both for aesthetics and for strength).

If you're looking for easy trees, check out Woodland Scenics. They sell everything you could need, from snow flock to tree blanks and foliage to ready-to-go winter diorama kits. Just be sure you buy something in the proper scale, as you can get trees in the exact same style anywhere from 3-8" tall.

try these the one is a complete mountain diorama kit and the other is a winter scenics kit, combined and you have your snow mobile Orks scene ready to go.

http://scenearama.woodlandscenics.com/show/Item/SP4111/page/1
http://scenearama.woodlandscenics.com/show/Item/SP4123/page/1

just for grins you should also add in a couple of Orks either Skiing or Snowboarding or both, even better against the backdrop of the scene put in a chair lift.
