Repainting talisman 3rd Ed

A while I opened the box for my copy of Talisman 3rd Ed for the first time in years and was horrified by the paint jobs inflicted upon the miniatures by my then 15 year old self with their garish paint schemes and lack of shading and highlighting. Seeing as I had nothing else on the go I decided they should get a fresh lick of paint and some new resin bases. So off they went into the Dettol to be stripped and are ready to be reborn.

The purpose of this blog is to, hopefully, get me painting them a bit more quickly as currently it's taken me ages to finish what I have.

Here's what I've completed so far.

This is the latest mini I've finished. I'm quite pleased with it, if I had the chance to do anything differently I'd probably change the greys.

My Chaos Warrior. I was trying to make the armour look really old and worn, don't think it worked completely but I'm still happy with it.

Really pleased with the rust effect on the ball and I learnt that black is a pain in the bum to highlight.

Repainting talisman 3rd Ed

Very nice!

I painted my entire set last year for a painting contest, complete with display board. The style I followed was close to the original 'Eavy Metal paint schemes as I wanted to maintain a degree of homage to the 90's style of the figures and artwork of the game.

Black is indeed a dificult color to highlight, but either greys or metallics usually doa good job with a bit of black wash used as a glaze - just mix with a little matte medium.

Keep it up and let's see the rest!
