I'm Roo and a new addition to Dakka Dakka. I've always been a massive sci fi fan but my chosen universe is 40k :-) I used to collect when younger but I have fallen back in through books and long hours spent in the Lexicanum.

A mate and I are now building rival armies - Iron Warriors for him, and a D.I.Y Chapter for me - The Sons of the Aquila. I've laid out some of my fluff in the Articles section under :

They are basically gunmetal armour with the left shoulder guard yellow trimmed with red, and the other guard trimmed with black. Veteran/commander helms yellow or black/white. They are supposed to be linked to (or honour) the Fists and the Templars. The odd knee pad will be white or yellow to represent actions served alongside the progenitor chapters.

I'm planning the chapter fairly zealous (even for marines) in their approach to veneration of relics/primarch/Emperor. I've just finishing up a semi-conversion for the Commander. He's got a power fist that I've done in scratched/faded yellow. Seemed appropriate for a son of Dorn :p Also his breastplate came from the Templar kit. I basically wanted bits of Templar and Fist relic/wargear pieces dotted around the force.
